Where did everybody go?

I know where I am. I know where Kelly Long is. I think Bill Garrett is still in Poplar Bluff. Steve Hicks went to St. Louis, I think. So did Roger Moore. Richard Yarbrough (great singer!) went to work as an EMT. Tom Bloodworth is retired from Shivelbine's in Cape. Chuck White? Ron and Rick Emerson are both dead, aren't they. Scotty Scott is. What's Marshall Shain up to these days? Rick Green? So many names, I can't remember them all! John Sousan? Steve Crawford? Who am I forgetting? Bob Runyon and Phil Croy are playing a gig together this Saturday night somewhere deep in the Ozarks. Butch Smith?

Does anybody remember when Tom Bloodworth, Kelly Long, Bill Garrett, Ronnie Williams and my humble self played together? That was one helluva band!

Richard Yarbrough, Chuck White, Jeff Allen, and myownself went out to Arizona in the 1970's to be the house band at a club in suburban Phoenix (Glendale). I liked it out there.

Chucky White works at Krogers in the produce department. I think Richard Yarbrough works as an EMT now. Steve Crawford has a one man band thing with back tracks. Charle Trout is a name from the way past. He was an excelent guitar player but I think he killed a man and was sent to prison. I might be wrong. I haven't seen Billy Garret in a long time. For a while he was developing a pick that had slide capabilities and trying to patent it. I don't think that ever happened. Phil Croy is a lighting board specialist. He can program your light board to do stuff that other people can't and that's why he gets paid to do it. Bob Runion as far as I know still works for the Forest Service or something like that. His wife (Ann?) was a nurse. I haven't seen her since thier wedding day. Lisa Long is in a nursing home in Columbia, MO last I'd heard. Bob Beauchamp plays in a coffe house in the Boston area playing music from the 70's. Benny Thacker died earler this year. He always tried to keep the beat.

We weren't there as a band very long before Richard started having some health problems that landed him in an Arizona hospital. The band ("Southbound") disbanded; and Richard, Jeff, and Chuck went back to Missouri. I stayed in Phoenix doing solo gigs for another few months, then went to Tennessee.

Interesting thread. I am reading about a lot of people that I knew. Red Arnac was buried last week. Good ole days at Log n stone. Bill Garrett is still around living where he always lived, out 67 north. Used to work at Hays Music, not sure if he still does. Was still playing music a few years ago, when JJ's was opened at the old Holiday Inn.
