Well hell I know I've slept since the last flood. But damn man I sat and listened to certain county emergency service providers on the phone contacting the coast guard the national guard and the state water patrol to organize rescue operations. The reason this was done is because Rick the dick sliver couldn't be reached by phone Everyone who did help did a great job. And lots of people r great full. Thank u pbpd bcfd mowp pbpd and the hell with slicker ricker

Yes they did take care of calls in the county, they were supposed to. That’s their job. And Yes the Water patrol was assigned to the fire department to coordinate those resources, that was the way Rick set it up. Was it the fire department that set up the sheltering operations? No that was Rick. Was it the fire department that organized the feeding operations, no that was Rick. Was it the Fire department that organized the Animal sheltering operations? No that was Rick. Was it the Fire department that arranged for the deployment of the National Guard? No That was Rick. Was it the Fire Department that arranged for all of the delivery of bottled water, food to be deployed in the county? No that was Rick. Was it the Fire department that was crucial in the deployment of Food and Water to most of Southeast Missouri? No that was Rick. Was it the Fire department that was involved in the response to fixing the holes in the levees, No that was Rick.
The Fire department did a great job, but their job was only part of what is required in that kind of event.
You sir, should get your facts right!
Dammit Jessica you forgot about Rick taking doughnuts to the boy scouts.

Dont worry all of us whom were involved in the floods worked hard EVEN Rick Sliger.

Some of my fellow spotters have a personal grudge against Rick Sliger but I personally do not, There are some people that seem complain no matter what and constantly cause disruptions in every organization they try to be a part of and that makes some of us without axes to grind uneasy about being affiliated with the few that seem to only be "concerned" and make all of us look bad and that just brings the whole organization down, anyway those that do nothing but complain are very transparent and it is very unfortunate that they bring shame to the rest of us that try to be helpful, fair and honest in all that we do.

I used to listen to all the yipping and yapping that went on about Mr Sliger from some of our members but once i came to know the people that were bad mouthing him i came to see why and understand the reasons that Mr Sliger dismissed them. well that is all i have to say the truth is rhe truth and no persons personal grudge can change the truth and i am tired of it all creating a unprofessional impression of the rest of us.

If you are concerned storm spotter then he "dismissed" you also because there are currently no spotters. And also their title is Fire dept, not EMA. Their primary job is Fires, but they did a lot of everything because EMA did not. The highway dept with the corp worked on the levees. The Coast Guard, National Guard and Water Patrol worked with DNR and BCFD because they could not locate Rick Sliger. He was at the city getting on KFVS news. Get your facts straight. If you would have been out volunteering and getting wet and tired you would have known that.

I sure do not doubt that one bit, And it pretty much shows how some people like to play the "agree with me or you are out" game.

Just trying to be fair and honest perhaps maybe OTHERS should try that and STOP all the constant negativity that makes us all look bad with their own childish personal agenda against Rick Sliger.

I can see where Rick has been wrong on some things but so have OTHERS, Anyway This is MY opinion so sorry if that upsets anyone "CONCERNED", not everyone has to agree with YOU or are going to.

See this is what happens when people focus on pointing a negative finger at the other guy and fail to realize that while they have one finger pointed in another persons direction, They at the same time have four of their own fingers pointed at themselves.

I am just saying this all serves no purpose, Casts all of us in a negative light and does nothing to help the citizens of our county that we are supposed to be "CONCERNED" about and trying to do good for and by.

Well you show your ignorance once again and of coarse you are too stupid to see that.

I was not sure as to whom to vote for but after reading all the stupidity posted on here i have decided to vote for Ed and i would urge others to vote for him as well.

We need mature people in our county offices not a bunch of children mad, pouting and bawling their eyes out because someone told them long ago that they could not play on the playground jungle gym anymore.

Now go ahead and post some more childish stupidity so we can all see clearly what a bunch of idiots we have running around embarrassing themselves as well as our county.

Some people word things wrong on here and some do not spell the best. In the past the only way people knew what was going on was the news and papers. Unless someone paid for an add, all you got was what they wanted us to know. The internet is full of gossip but it has the facts also. People have to filter the truth. As Hillary Clinton said, We not only have the right to question our elected officials, we are obligated to do this. They would love for the people to sit back and not talk, just take what they give us and not complain. Myself and a lot of people have worked with Rick Sliger and know him. All said on here may not be true but talk to people who have worked and still do work with him and you can form your own opinion. People always say I wish I would have known. People are trying to tell people now.

God this is so funny and is a fantasy. Food and water distribution ? Really? Guys just go to the people who worked during this. Now it is going to be hard to get them to say "bad" things out right. But see how glowing they are.

The national guard was brought in because the governor was called by a certain city official. Assets were managed by a joint planning group that had trouble finding the emergency management dude.

Don't believe me just go ask. If it wasn't for the county commission we would be getting a different director...

Ed if you are seriously wanting to be sheriff forget this guy. He is wanting to be sheriff and is not able to run and draw a check. Once in he will line himself up to be the hero (it worked before ask bill Heaton) and you will be out....
