We should be proud of our Emergency Management Director

Saw him on kfvs 12 tonight he seemed to be confuse as to the procedures on who was to make the call on sounding the tornado sirens. I thought that was his job.

I didn't think he was confused about anything. Pretty much told it like it was. I thought he did a fantastic job. And he is right, recluse and undisciplined is exactly what the hager group is.

He didnt look confused to you. obviously you are confused or another one of his butt buddies. I have worked with him before. He did not fire the volunteers. They quit. I started with EMA in 1991 with Lloyd. I threw my badge on Bill Heatons desk and resigned because of him. He did all he could to get rid of the reserves at the sheriff dept. That is the first thing he did at the EMA. You did not fire me, I was done the day you started with EMA. Some of the volunteers got a little excited sometimes, but they were giving their time freely to their community. The ones talking about them were sitting on their ass doing nothing. 72% of the fire fighters in the us are volunteers. 94% of the EMA members are volunteers. Myself and others went to many classes, have many certifications and gave hours during storms, searching for lost people, pulling drowning victims from the water and saving people from floods. I have a family member who works at Jeff City and Butler County is the laughing stock up there. One city says watch it or you will get Sligered. Rick Sliger cares about no one but himself and whos ass he is kissing. He cant be found during the flooding but he is at the City PD or the BBQ when KFVS12 shows up. Then when things turn, he will turn and run. Rick knows who I am and I will say the same thing to his face as I have before. You know my phone #. You can sit there and say in one breath that they were undisciplined and then say they were well trained. If you were so good, why did you not work and organize them. Do you not know how to bring guys in and form a new EMA if they are so undisciplined. How many years have you been without an EMA. How many floods and storms and searchs have there been with other agencies doing your job. Dont you dare blame the volunteers when you ran them off. Dont forget your comments about volunteers. You feel if they are not full time paid they are no good. Jimmy Hager and the EMA volunteers have more heart and compassion and has done more for Butler County than you could ever dream of having on your best day. You are left nut. Go get right nut and complain like a bitch to the dick in the middle.

This is a perfect example of reckless and undicipline comments from a rejected hager chaser. Can you not make your point without using profanity and vulgar language? I dont blane hime for getting rid of you. And by the way, do you really thing people are stupid enough not to see through this completely transparent attempt of political propaganda? Sliger got rid of the hager chasers two years ago, but all of the sudden the hager chasers are upset about it? Please! What is even more impressive is the fact that ed and rick have always taken the high road and not engaged in ANY of this negative campaign stuff. Ed truely is a man of integrity. You got to repect a man who refuses to compromise his beliefs of right and wrong even in the face of these attacks. Whats funny is that it doesn't even seem to bother him. While all you crazy people are on here trying to attack him, he is at home sleeping soundly and not paying attention to any of it.

Quit giving Eddie a reacharound. I never mentioned Him or Mark Dobbs. Rick was the one on TV flapping his jaws. I was at EMA before Jim was and Rick did not get rid of me. I did not step foot in the office after he was put in. I did not say anything political. You say Eddie is home sleeping which is where Rick was when the county needed him during our disasters. You say he got rid of the Hager chasers 2 years ago and all of a sudden they are upset. You must not have been listening to the public talking. The business is real good so you know it is not Mark or Jim. To me it has nothing to do with the election. It has to do with Rick talking about the volunteers who was out in the cold and rain giving time for the county. Butler county was the model for EMA that other counties used for their agencies and then Rick came in and destroyed years of work. You keep bringing Ed into this. The thing is Eddie has always been a good person. I voted for him but he forgot why he started. The good ole boy group is leading him off the road. He is a public servant and should listen to what the voters have to say even if he does not agree and then do what he thinks is right for the county. The bad thing is every where Rick goes, things go south and he leaves a mess while he moves on. He will destroy what is left of Eds ability to do good.

You call me sad. You are trying to make everything about Mark Hager and DAR. Rick is the one that was on KFVS. The thread is about him. You keep talking about them. Sounds like you are one of their mouthpieces. The only thing this had to do with them is Rick is trying to blame someone else for what he has done to EMA because he knows it will come out and hurt Eddie. My question is, how long has that siren been down? And he said he doesn't know how long it will take to get it fixed. Why didn't Poplar Bluff know BEFORE the news broadcasts that it was down? Or was it in the paper and I just missed it?

It also worries me that if Sliger is the only one to turn them on, then why do they have such a hard time getting him to amswer his phone? I'm again talking about the storm sirens. It doesn't appear as though he's fulfilling his duties.

When will Ed resign from his Commissioner position? If he intends to mount a legitimate challenge to the incumbent, it is incumbent upon his to resign to eliminate the CONFLICT OF INTEREST that he has put himself in.
