Congratulations DIVA girls & DIVA parents!!! Thank you for all your work to get rid of Coach Berry! It's been a different group of "DIVAS" every year he has coached. A bunch of girls out for just them & never a team?? No, the only one that wasn't a team player was the coach. & as a coach, he never had the ability to pull a team together! So please, TEAM BERRY, gather with your leader, hold his hand & have a good cry. Have to say, Mike is great at showing the girls how to cry after every loss. Good riddance.

Coach Berry still has his job, its the hobby he lost. Sounds like he just needs a new one--maybe he can help Marcus with all his traveling teams.
If it is jobs this is about then maybe Marcus is so upset because his is effected. Maybe the Board finally considered the dozens of orders totaling thousands of dollars of T-shirts, hats, etc. that were placed with Heartland without any competitive bids.

Wow.. Ive seemed to be gone too long. I had no clue about all this! When I was in school, Berry was an awesome coach, who taught all the girls to play together, and brought home victory, and or harder working players.

Berry hasn't had a winning season until the last couple years out of the over 6 years he has coached. And I'm not sure what fairy tale you were playing in. Berry has never been able to unite the girls on the team, but he is good at turning them against each other.

I have known the Berry family and have been watching Coach Berry for years. I have never seen individual players act like a couple of the girls did this year. They were openly and obviously rude to one of their teammates. I've heard about the painful and nasty letters received for several years by Coach Berry and an individual player's family. It is thought by many that they were from another player on the team or her parent(s). You can deny it all you want, but "the truth hurts".

Coach Berry was not rehired due to Sells, Vaughn, Farmer, and Atkinson's daughters not getting their way. Those are the complaints the board heard. Sells is over stepping his boundaries between parent and board member. He is power hungry and asshole. Those girls were always disrespectful in practice and in games. They do not listen, rolled their eyes, and made disparaging remarks about Coach Berry. They also bragged about how they messed up on purpose during the games to make him look bad. All of these girls have graduated, so what difference does it make, except for Vaughn a daughter in junior high. Diva girls and diva parents. And what with Rowland not voting...too afraid to suppport Coach Berry or too afraid to go against Sells, Eyler, and Simmons?
wish you people would quit lying. I played JV last high school season. I never heard or saw those girls say or do anything disrespectful to coach berry. the seniors were a great group of girls both good at volleyball and good girls. They were nothing short of nice and helpful to us younger girls, nothing like the seniors the year before. I did see many times coach berry disrespect the varsity girls and coach lance. coach berry isnt a nice man, i was going to quit because he was the coach, but now I stay and play

Dont know much about the situation. But after reading all these posts, the ones posted against Coach Berry on the most part are extremely hateful and downgrading. Makes me think the ones posted for Coach Berry sound true. I wouldnt even want to coach and have to deal with these kind of people. n

Well.. Seems. You said it all by stating you don't know much about the situation. YOU DON'T KNOW! Sometimes the truth hurts and is ugly, and this is one of those times.

Diva was an expression used in a totally different context than you recieved it. DA....coach spent to much time on explaining to the parents of a few why there are pimples on a goat's ass. which in return took him away from knocking out the issues at hand among the team.practices lasted 2 1/2 hours because from what i here it was just another eposoide of Jerry Springer everyday at pratice..........hell yeah jerry, jerry, jerry

I'm guessing he should have focused on volleyball skills, what he was getting paid for. Understandable if he had more knowledge about pimples on a goat's ass. Practices were a joke. Same thing every day. More like gym class than volleyball.

Just another reason why most Poplar Bluff teams, well the "popular sports" teams anyway like football & basketball continue to suck -- moron parents thinking they know better.

Yep, just look at those championship trophies tat we go t this year. And look at all those div I and pro teams that have spent months in town scouting the players. And how can we forget all those schools canceling their future games because, they know that they woo be beat. I guess the mules will need to look at the NFL and the NBA for the future. The future is so bright you gotta wear shades.

Yeah I'm a moron. Just because they did better doesn't mean they don't still suck... they just suck less than before. Anybody is an improvement over Lamont.

I actually think the basketbll team has some talent, but I've been around long enough to know that within 2 years some of the parents will have completely screwed up the program again. Eyler has already pushed his weight around & the entire Tibbs clan are chronic whiners... trust me, it'll be f*(ked.

Mr. A.D. I know you're new to this kind of drama, but now is the time to stand up, set up a meeting with all incoming players/parents hear their views of the b.s. brought on all season and now beyond from the out going individuals of the VB program. Then stand up and face the school board so they can hear the true facts of a different nature. Represent all who support the truth, including yourself and all coaches that trust you and your job responsibilites to protect them from wrongfull and undue stress brought on by a few humans. It will take you to climb the mountain with the truth in hand, To bring back MULE PRIDE to this program. I feel sorry for the coach of this program, new or reinstated, because these people could have planted seeds on their way out. do right and you will be rewarded..........STAND UP
The AD is a joke too. Just a puppet for boosters, board, and admin.

The team won't be much better. Getting rid of coaches and buddying up with others is the agenda for certain school board members. Their actions state that only certain kids matter. How does it make sense to take some coaches, unanimously vote them in, then vote them out after a few years? Or vote a coach out, then vote them in for another coaching assignment? These people are sending the message that policy, which they approve, is meaningless. Their ways are flawed simply because parents are single minded.
