Shawn Burkett

In the 80s I made a friend by the name of Shawn Burkett. His dad was Glenn Burkett and they lived on ditch road. As a teen, he got into some trouble and was sent to Sears, at least that is what I was told. I lost contact with him after that. Does anyone know how he is doing and if he is still in the area, how many kids, etc?

i knew him from back then too, he was a trouble youth. I think he has got his stuff together i saw him the other day or maybe his brother leaving dollar store up on main st I know there was 2 of the guys but can't remember the other guys name.

I beg your pardon. Trash in my opinion is those lowlifes that can get on these threads and talk sh** about other people when they don't have a clue what their talking. And dam* sure don't have the balls to put their real name. Guess you fit that discription, because I am far from trash and Shaun is far from a scumbag. no need to upset yourself with ppl who use their mouth and not their brain. I thought I saw him the other day at dollar store on main st. I guess i was correct. I knew him in the day, we all did crazy things that led up to paying the consequences. I am so glad my running around crazy b.s. has came to a stop. Now its family and work. Instead of partys and work. I thank the lord that I made it 39 years old. Its a miracle i did. Some of the things I di were crazy. but i don't let ppl get the best of me i knew what i did i sure don't need anyone elses lip or comment. So those who are better than others good for you. But I think put my pants on the same way others do. I don't like talking about other ppl because its disrepect

I knew Shawn years ago and ran in to him recently and I have to say that he look very good. He has a good head on his shoulders, looks and acts like he is cleaned up. I am proud of him and glad that he is doing so well. You go Shawn and don't worry about what anyone else says as long as you know the truth that is all that matters.

I guess it was a misunderstanding when he shot the window out next to the Police Officer standing at his door. He's lucky to be alive.

Do you not think that people can change? I know for a fact that some people can change and do. Sometimes we do really stupid stuff when we are younger and the only difference between him and most,(probably you included) is that he got caught and the rest did not. Give him the benefit of the doubt until he gives you a reason not to.

Whatever happened to forgive and forget. Everyone has a time in their life that they go through a wild stage and then you get tired of it and then try to make something of yourself. No one is perfect and makes mistakes. If we don't give people a chance to show they have changed then what are we saying for ourselves.

I'm really sorry that I started this thread, after reading all the negative posts. I wanted to know how Shawn was doing because he saved my ass years ago (when he was that wayward teenager that you condemn). I have thought of him often through the years, and through the bits and pieces of positiivity left here for all to read, it sounds as though he has done what we all hope to accomplish... learn from our mistakes.

No need to be sorry for starting this thread. As you see you've got some good feedback, from people who really know Shaun then and now. Like it's been said, everybody is getting older and changing their ways. Yea, he's now a volunteer fireman, along with his other job. He's doing great. So, don't apologize for bringing a past friend up, cause we love Shaun. Someone on here must of just pi**ed him off years ago. Can't remember what the creeps thread name is, but, oh yea Greer. By the way Shaun says he doesn't have a clue who you are. Also, he really doesn't care. He's got a ton of friends and doesn't give a sh** what anybody that has nothing nice to say about him feels.
