hey, you can't just assume! i don't know about the poster but not every one has a car or can drive! i can't drive because of a medical condition. i also cannot work because of it. i'm sorry to inconvenience you with your tax money but if it wasnt for medicaid, my children would have no insurance. and the only way to get them to the doctor is medicaid transportation. so thanks for helping me and my children o mighty and great one, because their father sure isn't!
I agree!!! If you don't like to help the less fortunate that live in the U.S then don't live here. If you don't like to put in then get out!!!!!

After everything I have just read I am completely disgusted. A child has a deadbeat dad, so what. It's a child. Should they receive less help because your child has a father? Is it the childs fault that the parents can't afford their medical care or that they need help from the state? It sounds like everyone's priorities are off. I understand it's hard to take care of your own family, especially in today's economy but tell me when it was ok to turn your head when others need help? Why is it ok to give to the food pantry but trash talk the people who need to use it? Why is it ok to donate your money to the lottery (and yes I said donate because most tickets are losers and that's money lost for no apparent cause) but you can't bare to part with that dollar if you know it's going to help some poor child whose on medicaid and food stamps? People donate to churches, girl and boy scouts, schools, politicians, and lord only knows what other clubs and groups, people will send money to other countries to help the children there that need food and proper medical treatment but OMG don't you dare help out your neighbor or a complete stranger. Now I don't agree with people who sit at home and have more kids just so they can collect a check every month but is that the childs fault? I don't agree with parents being on drugs and not supporting their children because of the habit but I can't blame the child for that either. Mother of 3 who is getting SSI on her son needs to go talk to the social security administration. If your son is on disability then he automatically gets put on medicaid. As for all of you who are complaining about welfare and the people that are on it, watch out. The way things are going with the economy the majority of the population is going to be on it before long. Prices are rising but pay is not and jobs are disappearing. What would you do if you lost your job tomorrow and knew that the prospect of finding a new one soon was very dim? Would you turn down the help that others did not? Would you let your child go hungry or without medical care?

Ok so it would be each and every tax payers fault because you decided to have several children with a man or men who do not support them?! Did you stop to think about that....obviosly not! You seem to be the classic voice of the "I'm entitled to $$, insurance, and food from the government" oh and let's not forget orthodontics now as well....WTF lady?!!!
Dude shut the fck up, what is wrong with you? If they can't afford it then they expect some sort of help from the government, I mean shit thats what they say they'll do, they say they can help the less fortunate. Sooooo fck off buddy and appreciate what you have instead of making of fun of others less fortunate peace.

It's not the parents fault when they lose their job due to no fault of their own. Why should children suffer health wise for that. We lost our jobs. Our kids are on medicaid, soon to be off because one of us is not working and the state will make us pay premium we cannot afford. So you see, it isnt all free.
Now the lazy ass people on welfare, collecting their checks every month and are more than capable of getting a job should be drug tested. Not with a pee test either. A hair follicle test so it cannot be botched. If the test is dirty then they should lose benefits until they are clean. Oh yeah, hair follicle testing, the drugs you take stay in for about 3 months.
One day it will happen. One day they will drug test. You have to drug test for a job, why not for your "free" check.

Did you all forgot what the original post was about. Some people really.do need Medicaid. My husband and I both work and pay the high insurance.rates that he is offered. They don't offer dental so My children are covered under Medicaid for that reason. So before.you say your tax money pays for the insurance, don't forget that mine does too.

I think its sad that working family like ours can't afford braces for our kids yet as u say due to medical reason u can get braces for yours .. I got 4 kids 2 of which are special needs .. one the really needs medicad to get help he needs but we dont qualify .. and i cant work cause if we do we lose his ssi and hubby works and makes a decent living but we like most americans have a hard time making ends meet .... i can see gettting medicad for "regular"medical and dental but for a cosmetic thing like braces it appals me ...so let me see if i get this because u have a medical condition .. u cant work but yet u more then likely get state aid and a
ssi check why cant u pay for things like the rest of us do. my son who has ssi is in need too but because w ework and make to much he cant get medicad but half the stuff he needs only takes medicad to aid people like him and yet they the state will allow braces makes me sick. U can work if u can sit and type at a computer u can get a work from home type of job. save money or use a tax return like i had to to get my kids there braces its called doing with out and saving even it takes a year or so
Well i hate to inform u but even if u dont work but ur husband does they cannot take away ur childs ssi,the only way they will take it is if somebody reports that he is workin and that he is able to work. i just bout everything there is to know bout ssi cause ive been on it since 2004.and how i got it for all u pple that only the lazy pple can get it is not true it took me 3 yrs to finally get it and what i got it gor is cause im considered legally blind, asthma, copd, diabetic and i just had to go thru a 3 hour surgery on my colon. i cant work in a factory cause of my asthma and my copd. and i cant do a job standing on my feet cause my knees and my back will give out on me. i have to take insulin shots once a day and a pill everyday. then thats not includin alll my asthma meds which is albuterol inhaler, symbicort inhaler, and spiriva. and i get medicaid if i didnt have it then there is no way i can pay for all my meds. im also on lisinpril for high blood pressure and some of my meds cost over 3 to 400 dollars just for one script. so i wish ppple would realize that some of the pple that is on ssi cause they cant work cause if they had a choice theyd rather work but just cant,,,dont be downing a woman who cant afford insurance and has to get medicaid cause the deadbeat dads wont pay their child support...so single mothers have to do what they can for their children. maybe the mother cant work cause she cant afford a babysitter or if u work second shift or third shift u arent goin to find a daycare that stays open that late of a night and ur lucky if u can afford daycare cause prices these days r so expensive. i commend any single mother that is doin their best for the children.. before u udge a person just try walkin in their shoes and see how u like it then. sorry i went on and on but it just pisses me off to hear pplre bitch bout kids or pple on medicaid. i even know aome rich pple that live in doniphan and prob poplar bluff and other states and towns that they get medicaid and food stamps. now i say to u why would they try to get if if they have enough money to buy a home or two and have 3 or 4 brand new cars.. see the system isnt right.

well lets see i was married and 21 when i had my first child and 22 when i had my second child..and my ex never paid child support and yes i worked at a nursing home but i had good parents that watched my children. but that was 20 years ago since now im 44 yrs old, and my daughters are 22 and fixin to be 23 in june.and i have a 4 yr old grandson. so dont judge me unless uve walked in my shoes. i was a nurses aide and i loved it. but let me tell u what it will eventually get u down in ur back and legs cause most times u dont have enough help to help u lift a patient up out of bed. and the ones that cant move on their own well its just dead weight and sometimes thats the hardest on ur back.

If it is for a malformation then I think medicaid will pay if it is severe enough to interfere with chewing and dental/gum health. As far as I know they will not pay for cosmetic reasons alone. Dr. Fox is the only ortho that I have seen that will fix these malformations. I know some mothers who took their children to a regular dentist and they have jacked up looking faces now. He said he could fix the malformation but it is obvious he did not. They have narrow bites, weak chins, and too much gum when they smile. If you can find a way to pay for Dr. Fox it is WELL worth it. My kid went to him from the 5th grade until the 10th grade. We had 2 sets of braces, head gear, and various other contraptions. She got her braces off last year and her teeth and smile are sooo perfect! She looks like Hollywood :D She had overcrowding on the bottom and really bucked and gapy on the top. I hate to see what her face would have looked like if we would have used someone else. Other dentist can straighten the teeth but that does not mean they can fix the bone structure.
Oh, and by the way. I think the income cap to qualify for medicaid on children is higher then it used to be. Both parents can work full time and still be eligible.

I cant stand 6 generation welfare families where nobody works but they have rides & get hair done & have nice clothes. But I also think its rude that some people assume everyone who has Medicaid for their kids doesn't work. My children are on Medicaid but my husband works everyday sometimes 70 hrs a week & his company doesn't have insurance so we go without insurance but my children don't. But technically we pay for our childrens' insurance since we pay taxes. Just think its wrong to be that general & judgmental.

I find it interesting that the posts from people begging for more government money are horribly misspelled and grammatically incorrect. My point here is, when one types in such a way, it looks and sounds very ignorant. GO TO SCHOOL, and you could have a good job AND learn to speak the English language. Quit mooching off of people like me who work six days a week to pay bills with NO help from Obama. Food stamps are welfare!!!
They weren't too disabled to spread them legs and have babys! I guess that's our fault also?

Who made the bad decisions that led up to the fact that they are single mothers and unable to take care of the children? Deadbeat dads maybe...but I didn't sleep with them so why should I pay...and yes, they can work!

Sorry but if you are getting ssi for your children I believe that money is supposed to be used for them not you.. Also, if you have special needs children then your insurance will cover personal care for the home and you would be able to work. I think working would be more than what you get for ssi, especially since it is based off of your income. As you said you husband makes a good amount. I dont think it is right of you to be so angry towards someone who gets Medicaid. I am a tax payer and my money also goes for Medicaid, yet I am not angry about it. Some people are not as fortunate as others.. I am currently in the process of getting my son braces and it is costing me an arm and a leg but yet I will not complain about others who do not have to pay.. I am very glad i dont have to be on Medicaid. Please stop judging people and criticizing them for the insurance they have..

You have a very high opinion of a certain person today, believing that they can do no wrong. But how realistic are you being? It looks as though you're viewing the world through rose-colored glasses, which is fine if it's only a temporary state but quite another matter if you're deliberately ignoring problems and pretending that they don't exist.
