25- Ban on female public baths.
26- Ban on males and females traveling on the same bus. Public buses have now been designated "males only" (or "females only"). 27- Ban on flared (wide) pant-legs, even under a burqa. 28- Ban on the photographing or filming of women. 29- Ban on women's pictures printed in newspapers and books, or hung on the walls of houses and shops. Apart from the above restrictions on women, the Taliban has: - Banned listening to music, not only for women but men as well. - Banned the watching of movies, television and videos, for everyone. - Banned celebrating the traditional new year (Nowroz) on March 21. The Taliban has proclaimed the holiday un-Islamic. - Disavowed Labor Day (May 1st), because it is deemed a "communist" holiday. - Ordered that all people with non-Islamic names change them to Islamic ones. - Forced haircuts upon Afghan youth. - Ordered that men wear Islamic clothes and a cap. - Ordered that men not shave or trim their beards, which should grow long enough to protrude from a fist clasped at the point of the chin. - Ordered that all people attend prayers in mosques five times daily. - Banned the keeping of pigeons and playing with the birds, describing it as un-Islamic. The violators will be imprisoned and the birds shall be killed. The kite flying has also been stopped. - Ordered all onlookers, while encouraging the sportsmen, to chant Allah-o-Akbar (God is great) and refrain from clapping. - Ban on certain games including kite flying which is "un-Islamic" according to Taliban. - Anyone who carries objectionable literature will be executed. - Anyone who converts from Islam to any other religion will be executed. - All boy students must wear turbans. They say "No turban, no education". - Non-Muslim minorities must distinct badge or stitch a yellow cloth onto their dress to be differentiated from the majority Muslim population. Just like what did Nazis with Jews. - Banned the use of the internet by both ordinary Afghans and foreigners. And so on... The Special Rapporteur's attention has been drawn to the Ordinance on the Women's Veil, which is reported to have been issued by a nine-member professional committee of the High Court of the Islamic State of Afghanistan and which reads as follows: "A denier of veil is an infidel and an unveiled woman is lewd". "Conditions of wearing veil: 1. The veil must cover the whole body. 2. Women's clothes must not be thin. 3. Women's clothes must not be decorated and colourful. 4. Women's clothes must not be narrow and tight to prevent the seditious limbs from being noticed. The veil must not be thin. 5. Women must not perfume themselves. If a perfumed woman passes by a crowd of men, she is considered to be an adulteress. 6. Women's clothes must not resemble men's clothes. "In addition, 1. They must not perfume themselves. 2. They must not wear adorning clothes. 3. They must not wear thin clothes. 4. They must not wear narrow and tight clothes. 5. They must cover their entire bodies. 6. Their clothes must not resemble men's clothes. 7. Muslim women's clothes must not resemble non-Muslim women's clothes. 8. Their foot ornaments must not produce sound. 9. They must not wear sound-producing garments. 10. They must not walk in the middle of streets. 11. They must not go out of their houses without their husband's permission. 12. They must not talk to strange men. 13. If it is necessary to talk, they must talk in a low voice and without laughter. 14. They must not look at strangers. 15. They must not mix with strangers." |

you know of islam? the perhaps you can explain to me why it says the moon is cut in half cuase those pictures from nasa look really convincing. and what that huge ball of fire is on the other side of the globe is after it gets dark. cuase i thought it said that it went into a pool after dark. or why allah seems to be so petty as to damand worship or die when he has the power to warp reality itself if he wanted to. or why he constantly needs worship from those he has "saved" when the firefighters that live down the street from me dont even need anything after they save somebody? why do muslims keep using the very book that says its real to prove it is real? isint that like me using the lord of the rings books to prove that goblins exist simply becuase it SAYS they do? qhy is the only way to insure stict doctrine to kill everyone who disagrees? what is the effect of coercion? |

It simply takes too much for most people to face the possibility that what they have been thought and what their life is based on, may be a lie - better go on in blind belief --- and perhaps meet a terrible disappointment in the possible next life - than to question your Quran. This even though the Quran is full of mistakes, contradictions, etc. they have to eplain away or overlook. http://www.1000mistakes.com |

1 http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/... Explaining why he wrote on his Web site that Hasan was a "hero," According to Shaea, Aulaqi said: "I blessed the act because it was against a military target. And the soldiers who were killed were not normal soldiers, but those who were trained and prepared to go to Afghanistan and Iraq." Aulaqi's views are controversial, earning him not only designation by U.S. counterterrorism officials as a leading English-language promoter and supporter of al-Qaeda, but also criticism from other fundamentalist Islamic clerics. Sheik Salman al-Awdah, a Saudi religious leader, gave an interview last week calling the massacre at Fort Hood "unjustified," "irrational" and "inadvisable" because it will cause a backlash against Muslims in America and Europe. But Aulaqi's statements reflect the increasingly radical path he has taken since settling in Yemen in 2004. Print, video and audio files of his words have been found on the private hard drives of terrorism suspects in Canada in 2006 and in the United States in 2007 and 2008. He also wrote congratulations to al Shabaab, an Islamic extremist group leading an insurgency in Somalia, after it apparently used the first U.S.-citizen suicide bomber last fall. "Fighting against the US army is an Islamic duty today," Aulaqi allegedly wrote on his Web site after Hasan's ties to him were reported after the shootings. "The only way a Muslim could Islamically justify serving as a soldier in the US army is if his intention is to follow the footsteps of men like Nidal." On Dec. 23, 2008, days after he said Hasan first e-mailed him, Aulaqi also posted online words encouraging attacks on U.S. soldiers, writing: "The bullets of the fighters of Afghanistan and Iraq are a reflection of the feelings of the Muslims towards America," according to the NEFA Foundation, a private South Carolina group that monitors extremist Web sites. Aulaqi is an "example of al-Qaeda reach into" the United States, U.S. officials said publicly in October 2008, years after his ties to the Sept. 11 hijackers were probed by the 9/11 Commission. The panel also revealed earlier FBI investigations into his connections to al-Qaeda associates. Aulaqi described Hasan as a man who took his Muslim faith seriously, and who was eager to understand how to interpret Islamic sharia law. In the e-mails, Hasan appeared to question U.S. involvement in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and often used "evidence from sharia that what America was doing should be confronted," the cleric told Shaea. "So Nidal was providing evidence to Anwar, not vice versa," said Shaea. "Anwar felt, after seeing Nidal's e-mails, that [Hasan] had wide knowledge of sharia law." Shaea said he interviewed Aulaqi in his house on Saturday in Shabwa, a province in southern Yemen that has become an extremist stronghold and where al-Qaeda is seeking to create a haven. |

1 The Fort Hood Shooter was more than happy to receive a free education from the American Taxpayer. He was not drafted. He could have worked and paid for his education all on his own. There are too many hyphenated Americans who don't fully grasp that there needs to be a separation between church and state. By the way, my great-grandparents were from Germany. My dad did not make excuses for Germany in WWII. He was not a German-American. He was a decorated hero who appreciated the opportunities (not guarantee of success) provided by the U.S.A. Muslims in this country, as a rule, do extremely well. I grew up in the Detroit area which boasts a large Arab population in nearby Dearborn. Anytime a holiday came around at work - people cheerfully covered for each other - Uncommited, Christian, Arab and Jew. Cooperation and respect ruled. All this religious hatred is just plain nonsense and evil. Religion is supposed to uplift, not support murder. Anyone who can't handle freedom, responsibility and respect for their fellow humans, needs to go back to the organized hatred pits in other countries. |
||||
Just one short comment: The Quran not only support murder, it glorify and demands murder and war - and suppression - against non-Muslims. There are more than 150 points positive to killing and war and suppression in the Quran. http://1000mistakes.com |
||||
But the Quran will not leave non-Muslims alone? Besides: Did Islam ever leave Africa alone?- you seem to live in Africa. 9 million Negroe slaves were imported to Arab states via Sahara + 5 million by boat (these numbers are from Encyclopaedia Britannica)- and the death rate during transport were horrible: I have seen numbers up to 90 - 110 million slaves exported to Arab states from "black" Africa. 14 million as mentioned arrived at the slave markets alive. Especially the marches through the Sahara were taking huge tolls - I have seen numbers up to 90%.(The death rate for export to the Americas was some 10% according to E. B.) Then there were all the slaves under Arab/Muslim owners in "black" Africa. And there were the 12-13 millions sold to the Americas, included USA: A large part of them sold by Arab/Muslim slave hunters. Left alone or not left alone: Africa will not prosper until they start blaming all and everything on the outside. Slavery in the west ended mainly in the 1800s - though later in Muslim area (the last was Mauritania in 1982!!!). The colonies were left gradually but rather quickly from 1957 on. Nearly all former colonies outside Africa are on their way up - some of them fast. But few in Africa. Why? http://1000mistakes.com . |
||||
If that is the case, it needs to be addressed. |

One of my teachers did this much better than me: http://www.topix.com/religion/islam/2009/11/f... No caveats, no hesitation - provided the quotations are true. It would not be the first time he has been misquoted. But we assume this is his view. Dr Jamal responds in no uncertain terms. |
