Police Violence in Blackwell, Oklahoma

Watch the video titled bad cop/ good cop absent on youtube.com you can search Blackwell cop to find it. The officer is completely out of line in my opinion and should be fired from his position, no matter who the suspect they should not be beat for asking why? The cop was very quick to draw the mase and baton. What a fucking prick

The city of Blackwell Oklahoma told YouTube to pull those videos because of a "Copyright Violation".

You cant copyright public records, and dashcam video obtained thru the Freedom of Information Act is public record.

You're correct. And they are(@ least one of them) back up. Hopefully answers and justice will be brought to light. To much secrecy by this town's "officials" has made Blackwell a dark spot on Kay County!

I watched the video, and the officer did what they are trained to do.
In my opinion those individual dumba$$'s should of got oc and then tazed. They did scream like lil girls. When an officer asks you to do something DO IT, when they TELL YOU to do something you better do it or the use or force WILL RISE....we don't need these deadbeat genes in our society or Keep them in Blackwell.

Blackwell PD you are doing a great job. Keep up the work and get these lowlifes off the streets.

Regardless of who they were, he acted with excessive force. What about the kid he beat up over a pack of smokes? Guess that was alright to. You're either this cop's buddy or blissfully ignorant of if his already soiled reputation before these videos even surfaced. He's a bully to everyone he approaches. Nice grammar and spelling. You have no idea what excessive force is defined by law. Stating idiotic crap without viewing the tape I'm referring to also shows your lack of understanding and obvious immaturity. I don't hate cops. But cops who abuse their power and literally beat up someone who posed no threat shouldn't be cops. Their motto is "To protect and serve" not; "To harass, intimidate, & hurt." Get a clue youngster! This isn't the only time this has happened in this town. You're obviously one of the few supporters left of a man no longer fit to wear the badge.

Force by an officer is always one step higher than the threat while the threat is a threat and that includes resisting and being a dumb@$$. You don't know what someone possesses until an individual is apprehended. Anyone can be a threat carrying weapon they can't see.

I never said anyone was innocent or above the law. But, this cop sure acts like he is. Watch both videos in detail and try using an unbiased perspective. You'll see both parties did wrong things. The difference is, the cop's duty is to "Protect and serve" not "Harass, intimidate, & beat up". If he was so <threatened> why didn't he wait for backup??? I live in Blackwell, NEVER ARRESTED and not a "dumbass". This officer is a druggy who busts druggies and the evidence does not necessarily make it to the evidence locker. He lies to parents claiming thier children have "tracks all the way up her arm" that do not exist.

I think before you go blaming the people of Blackwell for the actions of one corrupt cop, you might want to stop and think that corrupt cops exist EVERYWHERE. The only reason it's a hot topic right now is BECAUSE Blackwell is a small town. One bad cop does not a bad town make. However, Blackwell is on a steady decline due to the rise in drug use NATIONWIDE that seems to stand out when you look at a small town with a general below average education level. If you're all so worried about it, do something more than rant, rave, and bitch on the internet. Make a bigger deal about it. I have. I've called the local police department, several oklahoma news television stations, and local radio stations. Unfortunately, no one wants to hear from one person. I've seen several websites that host a page to this topic and no one's doing anything. What Officer Mitchell did is wrong, regardless of his training, I know him, and I know he did join the force for the wrong reasons. Everyone's willing to bitch about it, but no one's willing to actually take action. The internet is a great source of information and communication, but what's the point in it if no one's going to take action anymore. Unless you're willing to DO something, shut up, the only thing you're accomplishing on this website is assuaging your own disgust, you're not making a difference and you're not helping Mitchell's next victim.
