The state should use the money it'll save on Jenne's pension to transport the scum. It's a win-win.

You see...it is called "we told you so" regarding the budget restraints imposed due the the tax vote. Now the citizens will be up in arms- demanding that these "high profile" (safety issues) be addressed and resources alotted. The commissioners will have a super majority vote and increase the tax revenue to cover this.

Just wait until the fire department announces the temporary closing of fire stations on a rotating basis. Or even, better, the trash collections will be every other collection day.

I say, fire half the chair warmers in city/county hall and cut the commissioners pay in half.(just let the developers continue paying them)

After reading this article all i could do was shake my head.

Back on the street is a convicted robber, and a drug offender who both came up with dirty urines, but they are NOT behind bars, HOW DOES THAT PROTECT THE CITIZENS..
Maybe the same convicted robber will get stoned, think he will not be taken in so he does another robbery, but this time he hurt a humane being a little or alot. WHAT THEN???

If the lowering of property tax, is going to effect people breaking the law and walking away even for the time being, they have a chance to leave Florida or the country for that matter..

So, now violators are walking and the property tax lowering is going cutting the budget on this, and then take from medicaid, and then schools... was it all worth it.

When it comes to leaving felons on the streets, when they violated because of transport I have to wonder who has more rights the felons or hard working people just trying to make it from pay check to pay check..

Hey folks, don't let this article fool you. There are many more probation violators out there!!!! Not to mention the "robbers" and "drug users" that get released from jail by BSO. This isn't law enforcement's fault. 8......please, take a ride through fort lauderdale one night and tell me if those 8 were in jail that you would feel safe.

What they really need to do is give the violator a yellow ticket and a free bus pass and ask them to escort themselves to the county jail and turn themselves in.
That's the way.

However the county did implement this plan in 2006. The budget cuts endorsed it.

much of the money the gov takes in..I believe goes to deals made behind the scenes, and to foreign govs (for later kickbacks) they give foreign aid...17 billion to afganistan..later bush will give a talk like regan did and get a million or so fee? and Iraq forget about it hundreds and hundreds of millions in kick backs..

Let's see if we have this right? Sheriff pulls over driver for broken tail light; runs computer check and finds charge that he has violated probation for. e.g., drug possession, DUI, spousal/childe abuse, etc.--- but Sheriff let's person go due to Department "policy" !!!!.

An even better (or worse) scnerio would be having Corrections let the probation violator "walk" and which violator later commits another crime --- who gets blamed and fired for that?

If probation officers can't arrest without warrants then what are they supposed to do when they catch a sexual predator with children or pornography? Oh, I suppose the Sheriff wouldn't mind it if his children were left with a child molester while the PO runs down town the next duty day to find a Judge to sign a warrant.

Time to fired the sheriff and his staff. We don't need police officials who won't do their job(s).

Job(s) include incarcerating felons who violate parole.(Ego, a modern form of prision sentence.)

He might as well open up the doors at county jails and let everyone go free!!

At that point we really don't need police nor jails. Just punish/ execute criminals on the spot. It won't be as just or fair.. but it will be a whole lot cheaper..



Observation: I wonder what the cities under contract with the BSO have to say about this dereliction of duty??(They're paying the sheriff to patrol their streets.)

Freddy, I don't know why you are getting all upset, the guy spoke the truth. You want taxes cuts, well in order for that to happen, services need to be cut. I agree with Sheriff Lamberti in this case, why should he have to use county tax money to solve state tax money's problem. Its like the old saying goes, you catch the fish, you clean it. State violates these peoples probation, then they need to take them to jail. The cop out Freddy is when Probation violates these guys, they make a phone call to BSO and sit back in their chair with a cup of coffee.

It's amazing that the Sheriff wont pick people up from the cities that it doesn't patrol. They seem to forget that those people still pay taxes that fund the BSO. It's just another example of the BSO denying services to the cities that refused to give in to Jenne's machine. I thought this would have stopped with the new guy.
