Florida Gov. Crist's decision to run for the U.S. Senate in 201...

Full story: South Florida Sun-Sentinel

After Charlie Crist became governor in 2007, he launched an aggressive agenda to cut property taxes and insurance rates, reduce Florida's greenhouse emissions, and optimistically proclaimed Florida's "best days are not behind us, but before us." He enjoyed some early success, thanks to his effervescent personal touch, a compliant Legislature and ...

Stanaki Land deal in Volusia County could hurt Crists and McCollums election Bids. FDEP/ DSL was negotiating to buy land from a major Republican donor Mori Hosseini. They appraised the land at 12 k per acre. In derrogation of a court ruling (Case 05-001852) Crist and Bush and granted development entitlements on the Land (FLAWC053106) while negotiations were in process. The donor immediately got new appraisal at twice the previous value. Crist then had FDEP end negotiations and asked DCA to fund the purchase through a FCT Grant reimbursement program. This allowed new appraisals to be used by the State. May 8 2009, (FCT Governing Board Meeting) DCA approved funding the purchase at the higher per acre price (08-004-FF8).. The net increase in tax dollars given to the donor/developer for the land went from 3.2 million to 5.6 million. AG McCollum was aware of the Johnston ruling and advises FCT. Both McCollum and Crist received donations before and since the Pioneer CDD was granted

Mr. Obama could have called for Egypt's corrupt autocracy to release democratic dissidents rotting in its jails. He could have called for Saudi Arabia to no longer fund radical madrassas. He could have called on Arab rulers to stop persecuting Jews and Christians. He could have called on Syria to end its support for Hamas and Hezbollah. But he did not.

Instead, Mr. Obama highlighted the core principle of his foreign policy: a tough line against Israel. He repeated his call for an independent Palestinian state and for Jerusalem to halt expanding settlements. The key issue in the region, however, is not Palestine. It is Iran.

Mr. Obama is repeating Chamberlain's tragic mistake - except this time, the Israelis are to play the role of the Czechs, the sacrificial lamb at the altar of appeasement. Senior Israeli intelligence officials admit the Obama administration has privately told Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that Washington can live with an Iranian nuclear bomb. Mr. Obama believes it is only a matter of time. Moreover, should Israel attack Iran's nuclear sites to prevent the mullahs from achieving the bomb, Jerusalem - not Tehran - will be blamed for any military conflict.

The Obama administration argues that Israel's nuclear arsenal can serve as a strategic deterrent to the Iranian bomb, similar to how mutually assured destruction (MAD) between the United States and the Soviet Union kept the peace during the Cold War. But the Soviet Union was a rational, atheistic power. Iran's mullocracy is a messianic, apocalyptic Shi'ite regime, willing to sacrifice millions of Iranians to achieve the Final Solution.

Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani, a so-called "moderate" and a predecessor of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has vowed that Tehran will not be deterred by the fear of Israeli nuclear retaliation. "If the day comes when the world of Islam is duly equipped with the arms Israel has in its possession," he said, "... application of an atomic bomb would not leave anything in Israel, but the same thing would just produce damages in the Muslim world." In other words, the mullahs believe Iran can survive a nuclear exchange, while Israel can't.

These are the words - and ideas - of madmen. Mr. Obama lacks the courage and will to confront America's deadliest enemies.

"I think he feels he's done what he can here and is ready for a new challenge."

Is that screw up this state even more, tax us more and give the seminole indians the upper hand when it comes to gambling... He's a pos like the rest of Florida politicians and I hope Floridians are smart enough to realize that if he bailed on his Governor position, he's going to suck just as bad in the Senate or should I say he'll suck slurp and lick his way to the top. I hear the make interns love in the closet gays who only marry women to hide their bedroom preferences in order to excel their careers. Opps.. Did I just say that.. John! Where's my pills! I'm spilling secret Republican info again...

Too late. All he did was continue the Jeb policies, which GOT us here.

I swear, the Bushes have been nothing but HORRIBLE for the United States.

And PLEASE, you conservatives out there, defend Jeb Bush. The ensuing debate should be delicious.

We need strong a Florida Statehood and a loyal governor willing to fight back now more than ever as an out of control Obama admininistration and a wreckless democrat-controlled congress siezes more and more wealth and control of the private sector and does everything possible to shift the power from the states to a centrally-controlled socialist federal governement. Crist seemed to demonstrat that he's a willing accomplice when he surrendered his principles and buddied up with the jug-eared dufus clodhopper and accepted the Tarp money. We need to model ourselves after the great state of Texas and fight the communist takeover of our freedoms. Maybe Crist did the math and felt he had better chances in the Senate because I am afraid there may be too many left-wing slack-jawed lisp-speaking liberals from New York, etc., who are so brainwashed that they believe they need a federal employee to help them with everything from getting dressed in the morning to tucking them into bed at night. We need to fight these mentally ill bed-wetting pansies and kick them right back up north to New York and Washington DC where they belong.

I was just telling someone that Crist has probably been one of the worst Governor's to pass through the office. The person asked me if I could back up that statement. I could not think of anything he truely did that stood out in the time he has been in office.
