Welfare recipients to get $ for kids christmas gifts

Has anyone heard that they plan to give out free money again like they did for school clothes for Christmas gifts. Are you fuckin kidding me! I go to work every god damn day and struggle to pay my bills and do a modest christmas and they are going to hand people money to buy gifts that do nothing but live off the system. This is just crazy! This happens and I am quiting my job and goin on welfare.

It appears that the government thinks it is OK that those of us receiving Social Security Retirement checks do NOT get a cost of living raise like we have for the past 34 years -but- it is OK to find the money to give to those on Welfare.

This is just another example of what government feels towards the older ciziten that has worked all their lives and have EARNED every penny of their SS Retirement Benefits - Welfare receipants just hold their hands out and our Government gives them whatever they want (not need).

The USA is headed for just being another Socialistic County - get use to it.

I agree with shocked. I can't even believe this crap. Anyone read the Utica OD last week when they wrote how much cash and food stamps a family of 5 gets on welfare? I work everyday and they are making more money then I am a month for staying home and doing nothing and that's just the cash that they get of rent and what ever that's not counting what they get in food stamps... Maybe Obama should start taking care of the people that help themselves and not the non working lazy that don't want to help themsevels kind of people.....

What I read in the Aug. 12 Albany newspaper was that some people getting social services or food stamps would be getting back to school money as a result of a charitable gift to the State of NY by George Soros and the Open Society Institute. The State decides who qualifies for the extra money which is given in the form of a grant.

Folks on welfare aren't going to question how they came by the money and there is no quarantee it will be used for school supplies or clothes as was intended.

Get your butt off your shoulders about quitting work and going on welfare. You aren't paying for it!! The person, George Soros, who gave the money to the State, took it out of his pocket. He is a philanthropist which is a big word that basically means "someone who believes in using his money to benefit others".

One thing to clear up: blacks don't always ask for all the sympathy and empathy they receive. This is part of the liberal and politically correct way of thinking that makes the assumptive assertion that nobody wants to be down-and-out and poor, that if somebody is poor they must need help, assistance and teaching so they can rise above their poverty stricken lifestyles. The reality is that people are ultimately responsible for themselves and how they choose to live their lives. If you ask them, a lot of blacks don't want to be educated, have careers, or give something back to their communities or their country. The message is displayed in their music, their leaders and their culture - they would rather be hustlers, pimps and gangsters, slang drugs, beat people up, spend half their lives in prison and otherwise be a problem race. Whites always try to step in and fix things for blacks, not so much for black people's sake, but because the african american race is continually a burden and a threat to whites as long as it continues to suffer. I personally wish they would all move back to Africa and grow their own food and create their little ghetto colonies there.

I also think this entire generation (not just blacks) has become too dependent on welfare and free handouts, and we are starting to forget the meaning and value of hardwork and the rewards which are reaped from taking the helm of your life instead of always expecting someone else to do things and make decisions for you. But I don't know if welfare is the biggest evil, because welfare is like tossing somebody a bone, and if people are getting by on a bone, they don't have much. Most people have enough trouble getting by on their bone in the first place, so I don't see why tossing them a few bits of bone at Christmas time is really so bad. But, yeah, for working class and middle class people who have a bone with a little bit of meat and flesh on it, it can seem like an affront to see people get almost just as much for free. Especially when you guys have to work so hard at jobs that offer very little in the way of respect or exotic-ness.

actually the money that was given to those that received foodstamps in general was only made possible because of a DONATION... as far as another amount going out this is TRUE BUT it is only because not all of the people got the money that should have the first time...
