Fisheye, I can't tell you how scared I was to call the police and place myself at the crime scene. I can understand anyone who is afraid to tell what they know, but they need to just do it.This man deserves better than that.

Gelpin,
I agree. Today it is often common that nobody sees or hears anything. This is not making us a better society. Without people, like yourself, that have the nerve to come forward; we would never have any justice.

Fisheye, I don't know what this man's story was,but I do know that he was ambushed. There is no justification for that.If you have a beef with someone, you should face them like a man.whoever killed him was a coward.

This young man, that proudly served his Country, should have had a long and prosperous life. His life was cut short and the perpetrators are still loose.
Hopefully others will come forward and the police will be able to make an arrest shortly.
Thank you again for your courage.

Manic,
I have a .357 mag Trooper Mark III with a six inch barrel and I know that I would lose all my hearing if I did not wear double ear protection when I fired it.
I also had A Ruger Super Blackhawk in the .44 mag. That did not bother me as much as the .357. The .44 is very impressive if you ever fire it over a mud puddle. You can see the shock wave - not that you can’t see the .357’s wave. No matter how many gun battles you watch in the movies; you can never really feel the shock waves from these super weapons. Can you picture being in a vehicle with one of these discharged close to your ear? In the movies they always have gun battle scenes in a house or bedroom. You could never give the audience the full version of one of these battles. Once I killed a rabbit with the shock wave from my 12 guage. He was so close (about three feet) that I did not want to disintegrate him so I aimed for the tip of his nose (and missed)- he died without a hole in him.

One of the reasons you usually don't practice with full loads, the python shoots very nicely with .38 special and the .44 mags shoot very nicely with .44 special. When I practice with my 1911's I pull the stock spring and put in a target spring, thats when shoot .45 wad cutters loaded a bit on the light side. The heavy springs go back in when the speer and cor-bons go in and they get shot too just that 400 rounds of wad cutters is normal for a session while 50 is normal for practice with full house loads.
Spent 17 years in artillery, no problem, 155's are mellow, first time around an M1 tank and I thought I was never going to hear again, it was painful.

fistv,
I use plain old target load .38’s. They are easier on the ears than the .38 Special or the .357 mags. I also use the plastic .38 target rounds for my indoor range. They just use the primer for power. Did you ever try those? If I get feeling that I haven’t shot enough; I’ll pick those up. It is one advantage of using a revolver - you don’t have to worry about changing any springs.
My favorite low velocity/low noise is the single shot .22 with low velocity shorts. It is a great way to waste a terrible winter day on an indoor range in the basement. I have two old Sear’s Rangers (circa 1930’s/1940’s) that shoot great. I think that they sold for about $4 back then? If things really get bad I’ll pick up the BB gun, pellet gun, bow or a slingshot.

Daily Horoscope for December 31

Gemini

You'll need every ounce of patience today because even the best-laid plans could go up in smoke under the Full Moon lunar eclipse. It seems that certain people are doing their best to throw spanners in the works, and the more annoyed you become the more they'll goad you still further. If there's dissent in the ranks about how to spend New Year's Eve, you may decide to go your own sweet way and prove that you're an individual in your own right. But try not to let any bad feelings mar the celebrations. Have a fantastic night!
