Moved to the area thinking this might be the place to retire. Wrong, the LDS make it impossible to live here. If you don't have their secret you are screwed. The LDS people make life miserable for outsiders.

I totally agree, the LDS controls everything. They even control your life within your home. We are out of here in 125 days.

All of Eastern ID is nothing but mormon. They are the most self righteous group of do nothings in the entire United States. I would rather live in the worst black slum in Detroit than be here with the #*%$#@# mormons. If you aren't mormon the price doubles. They try to screw everybody they know aren't mormon.

The people in Pocatello were trained by the temple anarchy and this resulted there.

Isn't that something for the Pocatello mormons to be proud of?

Pocatello is a great place to retire considering the cost of living and the area in general. I had to leave due to my situation, but if I had a retirement income or SSI I would have stayed in pocatello. I'm not mormon, but they never bothered me much when I lived there from 2007-2010. Let's be real; where are you going to live that you can live in a apartment, pay all of your ulitities, food, and even have a cheap little car in a small city that has all the things that you need to live for less than $1000? I'm sure that they have places all over the country like pocatello, but you really have to look. If you think that you have it bad in pocatello, move down south in a small town where I live now. You will come running back to idaho if you are retired. I travel for work, but when I do retire I will return to idaho so I can live cheap and not worry about life in general.

Garret,

I noticed you said, "I'm not mormon, but they never bothered me much when I lived there from 2007-2010." Why did you put the qualifier in there with the word "much?" The mormons are great people, it is the mormon teachings that are just a bit skewed. They are a cult organization that have stolen their church ceremonies from the Free Masons. If they will steal a ceremony, what else will they steal?

Well no matter what the some people think of the LDS church the fact is that they are the leaders of the community in eastern idaho in general. I've lived in much more challenging communities in my adult life and having a LDS church in a community is about as concerning as a cloudy day. The LDS church does much more good than harm in any community that I've lived in and I would live in idaho again right next to a church and it wouldn't bother me. Most people in idaho in general don't know how good they have it in my opinion and just enjoy what you have. Anytime you think it may be better anywhere else please give it a try. Everything cost more, more crime, and more concerns about personal safety or lack of benefits in the state you live in. Most important is that no matter where you live you will always have something that you don't enjoy. Have fun everyone.

Yes, the mormons are the leaders of the community. They are almost as good at it as Obama is at being the leader of a country.

Daily Horoscope for May 25

Taurus

Try hard not to let money or possessions come between you and a friend today, unless it's over something that has got to be sorted out before it goes any further. For instance, if someone owes you money and has consistently failed to pay it back, this is a good day for mentioning it to them and finding out what's going on. If necessary, you may have to be quite vehement.
