So, having a reliable supply of electricity will bring down residential values? Sure, we pay for new transmission lines in utility rates, but those costs are shared across New England. How much does it cost if we all have to buy generators because the power's failing more often? How many will be killed by carbon monoxide from those generators?

The width of a power line is "deforestation"? Do any of these protesters use wood stoves? If not, what are they heating with? Electricity? Oil? As for invasive species - really? What species precisely loves live by power lines?

We need to get beyond the politics of just making silly stuff up to try to win an argument.

Wondering how many opponents belong to both an anti nuclear group and the anti southern loop group? I would like the reporter covering the meeting to ask attendees if their opposition to the Southern Loop has some connection to their feelings on the VY extension.

I opposed to it because I still have to pay full taxes for 5 acres of land that I can't even use. I can't pile dirt, plant a garden or sotr you guessed it a pile of wood there. Maybe if the land owners were given a tax break on the land they ( power comp) are using, some of us wouldn't be so upset about it.

Did you purchase the land with a utiltiy right of way, or did the utiltiy use emmenent domain to gain rights your property after your purchase? I would think that would make a big difference.

100 or more jobs for two or more years, sounds like a stimulus package to me.

Daily Horoscope for December 24

Libra

It's Christmas Eve and you're running around like a scalded cat. However, it will do you no end of good if you can find a few moments here and there for some quiet contemplation. You might want to visit a place that's sacred to you, or take a walk in some beautiful surroundings so you can commune with nature. You need to feel that you're connecting with something bigger than yourself.
