Things need to change in this town. Although it will take effort on all our parts, I feel a good leader is important. I will be voting for Mitch Evanovich because I feel he has a good view on things and can bring the change we need. You can check him out at mitchformayor.info. Please come out and vote this year, even if you never have before. There are less than five thousand citizens in Glassport. Your vote does matter.

Uneducated, ignorant people such as this "Glassport Watchdog" are the reason why Glassport is the way it is right now. I voted for Mitch and believe he will do a great job. Good Luck Mitch and I hope I can be more involved with our community in the future so I don't want to move out.

Remember the sign that said
Glassport, We are proud of our town, you would be too if you lived here.

LET'S BRING BACK THAT SIGN AFTER WE CAN MAKE SOME POSITIVE CHANGES.

People need to understand that things don't happen over night. During Mayor DiMarco's term, he's done so much and tried to do so much more for Glassport -- got a playground and a skatepark for the teenagers when parents were complaining there was nothing for their kids to do being one thing. The only reason the skatepark isnt there now is because the kids destroyed it themselves.

As Mitch even stated on his own website, Mayor DiMarco was planning on opening the baby pool and trying to turn the big pool into some kind of new park for the kids of Glassport. In January he announced plans to make a website with upcoming events, such as the upcoming Fishing Tournament thats advertised at the Memorial, and info about Glassport, and the website is being launched soon as to my knowledge.

Everyone complains and complains about the town, how theres nothing for the kids to do, how this generation destroys everything, and how bad it looks but how many of these people who complained have gone to the council meetings? Its not until someone shows up at their own door will they say all they have stored up, which isnt right. The key to a good town isnt ONLY a good council, but also a good and involved COMMUNITY.

I voted Terry DiMarco for Mayor. While I still support him, I want to see and will give Mitch a change without bad mouthing either. All I wish is for the COMMUNITY and the PEOPLE WITH COMPLAINTS to speak up so Glassport can move forward together. If you have ideas for getting the kids off the street and activities for them, tell teh council. If you have complaints about an abandoned building near you, tell the council.
Glassport needs better communication if anything.

Sorry, Glassport didn't do the right thing. Mitch has no experience with politics, Terry has 13 years. Mitch never showed for a counsel meeting till December when he decided to run for Mayor. Terry and his wife got the Senior Center running again, the kids Fishing Contest, trying to get rid of slum loads and the list goes on. We have about 4900 citizens in Glasport with only 2300 registered voters and only about 1000 voted for mayor. So when this guy Mitch screws things up and believe me he will without any experience, who you are going to blame. I am tired of people complaining about whatever is wrong but they do not take a stand on voting. Terry was the best thing that ever happened to Glassport. Be prepared cause we are in for trouble. So Mitch be ready because you will be receiving every one of my complaints and lets see how you handle it....Oh and will your wife help taking complaints like Rose did, is she going to help at the Senior Center like Rose did and be down at the muddy edge of the river helping the kids of Glassport with the fishing contest. You were a mail man and you have no experience with the law and procedures so start studing because I am one citizen of glassport that does no the laws.

I would like to see the community get involved with getting the Glassport Pool opened. Where there is a will there is a way. NOTHING is impossible. The town needs to get together and make it happen.

lol, at the comments made at Mitch saying he will screw up. Why does everything have to be about Politics, and why can't it be whats good for the town. Obviously the town of glassport knows who they want and are ready for a change. Get over it. DiMarco lost, the people spoke. Quit being a sore loser.

Why does the wives need to be brought up in this, a mayor is suppose to be mayor not involve the whole family, not saying that Rose getting involved was wrong......it actually was great, but if Mitch's wife doesn't get involved it doesn't make him a bad mayor , or her a bad person. GET A GRIP PEOPLE

The mayor has been hosting it for the past FOUR years actually, along with his wife and a lot of supporters because no one else would do it. Go to council and ask themselves. Don't make false accusations like that.

Nancy....( glass is my port ) it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out who you are ).........ok so not even a 1000 showed up to the polls.......what makes you think that if all 2300 people registered the percentage would have changed ? Mitch still would have won !!!

We are so glad Mitch won !!! Congrats Mitch
We are ready for change and can't wait to see the good come from you to this town.
glass is my port. I don't think you need people to show up to a council meeting to tell you about abandon buildings. You all live in Glassport and can see for yourselves. St. Cecila's, the Glassport Elementry School ( which should be turned into something nice ) The playground should have stayed at the school property., the parents had a place to park their cars and the kids had the field to run around in. How is putting a playground behind a beer distributor with railroad tracks good for the town. Please tell me you are kidding me.

Daily Horoscope for January 2

Scorpio

Something about your personality or appearance is drawing a lot of attention today, Scorpio. People insist on watching when you'd rather that they minded their own business. Your stubborn streak at a time when flexibility would be easier. Be kind to those with long memories, especially if you think you might run into them again at some point in your life. If you can't think of anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.
