hummmm, I zee....I tend to think you are probably correct about this industry but question what major industry isn't corrupting or being corrupted by our elected officials.
I recently heard that the majority of congress and the administration are multi-millionaires. It was also pointed out that Lyndon Johnson was poor when he started out and excessively wealthy when he retired (thanks to investments and payoffs in one form or another)- just like our current pres and most of those preceding him since 1963. That's apparently when the underworld took abosulute power by openly assasinating the last of the honest and idealistic presidents - and getting away with it.
This seems to be the root reason why they refuse to act boldly in the best interests and will of 99% of the citizens. Fear and temptation....offers they can't refuse (or at least are led to believe they can't). Maybe they can't and survive assasination, physically or of character, but that's just the kind of martyr we need today.
Morals, ethics, logic, analysis and psychology are subjects that need to be required for a HS degree today.
Legalize and exploit cannabis sativa for the many valuable treatments and products (including taxable employment and industry) that can be made from it - despite the fight from unethical, amoral, narcissistic and Machiavellian industries that are hell bent on maintaining the illogical and irrational prohibition. see norml.com , LEAP.com , MPP.???, or just search out marijuana and hemp and study up.
Outlaw psychotrophics (psychiatric meds)and review them carefully at the discretion of psychologists before allowing further sales. see cchr.com "Making a Killing"
Immediately begin to quickly curtail burning anything, especially for electrical generation (coal) and transportation (petroleum). Educate the public to the planet, time, money, resource, money saving alternatives that are just waiting to be mass produced.
DEMAND that our elected officials act ethically and in the best interest of the majority and planet or campaign for the election of anybody that might do better to replace them.

I have just written two posts comending you for your honesty, bravery and analytical abilities. I can only guess, from previous experience, that the censors are holding up the previous posts.
Just wanted to say SHOW ME TOO or I'm going to keep kicking like the mule I am until I die or the corrupt majority of "politicians" who are still in office are out of influence. It's simply preservation of the species - instinctive and necessary.
