Full story: Chico Enterprise-Record

Onlookers laughed, took pictures and even joined in Saturday night during the two-hour gang rape of a semiconscious 15-year-old outside her homecoming dance at Richmond High, police said Monday.

The first thing that comes to mind is something that would leave these animals physically UNABLE to do this again.

Feminists used to go ballistic over this kind of news. They were also silent about the savage gang rape and injury to the young woman by the Halliburton slobs in Bagdad. What gives?

This is only one step towards the breakdown of our civilization. How many hundreds saw, watched and did nothing? What values have they been taught in their welfare home and their welfare schools?

Track them down and string them up! Animals, plain and simple. They only resemble humans in stature.

Doesn't soundd like the school admin or board feels too bad either. "We should have ... we could have ... we didn't ... we will" Too late, people. This girl is ruined! Because of lack of supervision and the little extras that don't even cost that much. Like lighting or good fencing. Wonder why the father wasn't closer to the dance to pick up his daughter?

Those kids are lucky I was not one of their peers. I would have killed them all had I been a witness. Starting with the participants and ending with the crowd. Bats and flesh don't mix.

Freakin' gangs! Many utilize rape as an initiation. Many just run their "trains" as part of everyday gang life. Castrate, I agree. I'm tired of hearing this stuff everyday.

I agree if that was their true comments about them not doing their JOB then they should go to jail as well.Richmond is a hole in the ground and has the bad reputation alot of gangs just doing what want as they please.chico has its problems too but I've been told lately the PD, sherriffs and others have been busting alot of thugs, druggies, felons etc.

The people who committed any acts upon the 15 year old girl should be prosecuted to the max. They are sub-human.
But, if someone doesn't say the girl contributed to her own rape we've lost touch with reality. She made a stupid and reckless judgement call. This hints that it wasn't the first time she done so. Consider she was brazzen enough to meet up with a real rough group in remote location at night says something about her and the way she chugged the booze. What nice girl does that? Everyone needs to be held accountable...the first and heaviest burden falls on the rapists obviously, but the girl should not be let off as the totally innocent victim here. There is a lesson to be learned and everyone needs to be held accountable or the lesson gets half learned.

Go to the trial and watch justice unfold. Everyone of them will have a lawyer paid by you and me who will blame it on parents, school, society, police, the victim.

They will all be back on the streets within a year, maybe two after a plea deal and good behaviour

VERY sad story,.. it really didn’t HAVE to be this way. These kinds of things are really hard for me to understand. I was raised to fight for the underdog and always have. The sad reality is that only takes ONE PERSON to stop something like this. Just one person to have the brains to know when something is wrong and the guts to speak out and do something about it.(In this case, the student president WAS THAT ONE PERSON.) I have ALWAYS stuck up for the underdog and ya know,.. it was never hard to do. It could be something as easy as asking the jerk if they realize how stupid they look to everyone when they act like that. The ONLY difference between me and the herd was that I was never afraid to say what everyone else was already thinking (but didn’t have the guts to say out loud). And ya wanna know something? I NEVER caught crap for it,.. not once from ANYBODY, EVER. You know why? Because it WAS wrong and they all knew it. Once one person speaks out,.. it makes it easier for others to speak out too.

It seems to me parents need to teach their children better,.. teach them the difference between being a leader and a follower,.. remind them that they do have the power to make a difference and how to use that for greater good. The parents of these onlookers seemed to raise little more than a bunch of spineless, gutless brainless whimps. I’d be ashamed if they were my kids.

- It's probably safe to say she "learned her lesson" you think she needs to learn for being a niaeve 15 year old. Being foolish, niaeve or making a bad choice does not justify gang rape by any stretch of the imagination..

I'm not a lawyer and this incident disgusts me just as much as you, but it is the job of a defense attorney to cast doubt and make sure that the prosecution has proved their case beyond a reasonable doubt. If you want to blame someone, blame the jury as they are the ones who decide the case. If they buy into that "blame the victim" or "poor upbringing" crap, then it's the jury's fault, not the attorney's.

I hope they catch these low lifes and give them the death penalty. I would have been in jail for brutally beating on these maggots if I were witnessing this. They should charge everyone that watched and didnt report this heinous crime.
