This is a very good thing. So good that they should expand it to Monroe, Carbon, Schuylkill, and Berks County as a greater regional efford toward prevention of large scale medical epidemics.

Dr. Eric J. Gertner, MD, M.P.H. of Macungie, internal medicine physician, medical director, associate professor of medicine, and graduate school degree in Public Health.

Dr. Ilene S. Prokup, A.B.D. of Lower Macungie, epidemiologist, Professor, Chair: Department of Nursing, Kutztown University, graduate study in Public Health (Columbia University).

With two more to be named, let us all hope they are not political appointees, but true professionals in the area of public health. The goal should be complete immunizaiton of the public population against preventable disease. Plans and procedures for epidemics. Training and process of professional healthcare workers to identify and report potential public health hazards. Communications system with general population.

This should not just turn into a clinic for all types of issues and abused.
