Officials stand behind Kepler pool

I think the borough should find another entity to manage the pool, and should lower the season membership fees. The YMCA does not need to control the only two pools in the area, and it allows them to "price fix" the cost to swim around here. The one-time daily entry fees aren't too bad, but the single person and family season passes are ridiculously expensive for a small family. It would be a bargain if you have four or more kids, but as a single parent with a kid, it is crazy to charge $145.00, in my opinion. Perhaps there could be levels of family memberships depending on family size, so that small families aren't subsidizing the greater expenses of large families in the overall membership fee structure?

Wow, there is so little truth in your post it's hard to know where to begin. First, the YMCA does not "price fix," as you charge. The borough council has final say, and votes on all of the pricing for Kepler Pool. The YMCA provides financial assistance for those that have a hard time affording the cost of membership to the pool.
Second, I guarantee you that if the YMCA did not manage the pool for the borough, there would be a big empty hole in the ground in Governors Park every summer, instead of a community swimming pool.
