<quoted text>I can't complain. Business has been good. I see the effects of an increasingly better economy reflected in my pay and bonuses. I know it is not the same for everyone, but I don't see the gloom and doom, that is preached by others. Actually, I have been very conservative with my spending since several years before the bursting of the bubbles. When I say that, I mean I spend money, but on quality rather than quantity. My spending has not changed from before the economic collapse. I have a friend that is highly conservative both politically as well as financially and he is not a good model for how to live well. It works only because he has just himself to worry about. On paper he is easily a millionaire and he drives around in a 12 year, rusting Mazda truck. He doesn't have to. He chooses to. He would be all for cutting government spending to the bone, because it works for him. His needs are much more spartan than most. That is not a way to run a country any more than spending like mad. Of course we are talking about under normal condidtions.
What proof is there that using household finance strategy is the best model for the national economy? I don't see anything wrong with cutting back, but cutting your nose off to spite your face is what is being suggested by Republicans. Wealthy people will tell you that you have to spend money to make money. We are starting to slowly come out of the financial morass this country has been in. I am not completely thrilled with Obama, but I know what got us into this situation and I would rather have Obama trying to fix it even slowly than sink deeper by bringing back the party that put us here in the first place.
First, let me say good for you if your business has been good! That's probably one of the reasons some of you on here don't really understand what is happening. How about the folks that are on a fixed income that get very little or no increases in their income?(and don't have but very little savings) You don't know what it is like until it happens to you. Everything is increasing in price. Yes, I mean everything! When everything increases a few dollars here and a few dollars there, it soon becomes overwhelming. It won't be long until there are people on fixed incomes that won't even be able to afford their needs if things don't change. I don't know the answer but I do know that the government needs to quit their outrageous spending. My family is really beginning to feel the pinch. I know there are others that are much worse. People don't understand until they are on the other side of the fence, then, the picture comes into view of what is happening.

This sounds like the OBOMBhead agenda-----

Socialism by definition:

An economic system in which the production and distribution of goods are controlled substantially by the government rather than by private enterprise, and in which cooperation rather than competition guides economic activity. There are many varieties of socialism. Some socialists tolerate capitalism, as long as the government maintains the dominant influence over the economy; others insist on an abolition of private enterprise. All communists are socialists, but not all socialists are communists.

(in Marxist theory) the stage following capitalism in the transition of a society to communism, characterized by the imperfect implementation of collectivist principles.

You are only assuming it has never happened to me, just because I said it is not happening now. If you will look back at some of my posts, you will see where I mentioned that my 401K lost about starting losing money in 2006 and by 2008 had lost 60% of its value. So you are blaming this on Obama. What about when this was occurring under Republicans? You seem to have selective memory.

You have no idea of my origins. For instance, I was not born into money, but have had to work to earn it. In the past 10 years, I may have made more money than my father ever made in his entire life, but it doesn't mean I don't know what being poor is like. I would say that growing up poor was a strong influence on seeking an education at two different state schools of higher education. That has in turn lead me to jobs working for the state and later private industry. I am very fortunate that I chose an industry that was only moderately impacted by the economic collapse of the Bush era, and I am appreciative of that fortune. However, I can't forget the VA benefits and state schools that provided for my education along with my family. While you cry about the government spending money causing harm to people, I am an example of the government spending money that helped people. In my opinion the money spent is an investment in the future and is the only way we would really see a return. It was a magic bullet go to right everything in the blink of an eye. I am beginning to think that all you conservatives are a bunch entitlement whelps made because you are getting what you want fast enough and need someone to blame.

Norton, my husband and I understand only too well about living on a fixed income.
We received a cost of living increase from SS only to have the premium increase and also our supplement premium increase. So much for the cost of living increase.
Btw, I am a democrat and I'm not a happy one.

A premium increase? I understand the premium cost increase for Medicare part B, but that was offset by the 3.6% cost of living increase in social security. What other premium are you talking about?

Wow, tale a breath. Touched a nerve did I?

First of all I have NEVER given any credence to his birth certificate nonsense-- NEVER have I mentioned ANYTHING about any of his relatives in a derogatory manner.

Secondly I have seen video and pictures of him NOT placing his hand on his chest.

Third I saw pictures of him on the Tarmac when those killed in the Afghanistan were brought off the planes upon arrival in the US.

You are encouraged and welcome to read all my posts to assure I have NOT made the comments you have accused me of.

I have no need to watch your videos and you're right no intention to do so.

I read the first line of this Braindead's post and it made me want to spit. Wish Obama would stop making idiot mistakes because this Romney doesn't need to take over and make more of a mess of things.

I am out there reading and trying to get more facts about the lies that this man is spewing. Read the comments on Walker and yes, I agree they are interested in cutting out the jobs that should be very valuable to have to live in a safe and intelligent environment. Cut back on the teachers, firefighters and police and medicaid for the elderly that already have to choose between medicine or food and worry about how long they can afford the utilities (sewer) and their rent increase, while getting no increase in the SSI they invested in all their lives. Romney nor any other Rep give a flying flip about these people, cause theirs will always be protected. He doesn't worry about the poor cause there are provisions made for them - Ha! Meanwhile he will be the reason more middle class become poor.

What would this country have done if the banks had gone under, the car company's as well. Should we allow the poor to be unhealthy all their lives and can't we see how much it already costs to have them free load. All this money wasted could be put to use erasing all the fraud and cons and crooks from existence!
Damn, I don't want to pretend to know much, but I am in fear of becoming hopeless in this F'n world the way it is.
Here - let me hear one of them comics now when I need a good laugh. It's not F'n funny, it's scarey.

Has anyone told me what Romney will do to benefit us. Shoot, he can't even tell us and I don't believe him anyways!

After this diatribe it seems pretty clear you do not have any intention to do anything but demean and push your agenda. If someone doesnt agree with your views then they're a Neo-Con. It is all black or white with you. Seems we are on a level playing field --- you do not respect me and I no longer have any respect for you or your

Hmmmmmm,
wonder where the rest of that post went Mom?!

We seem to refuse to want to offer Obama any credit for any thing. All the rich 1.5 percent had money to create jobs, but instead sent them to other countries out of greed and a lack for a desire to see our country prosper and then continue to look down on the rest of their own country neighbors instead. Meanwhile our country men and women are away from home dying and coming back wounded to fight for the few who can afford to survive it. Have we even bothered to count those numbers of folks that have been in war all these years that we begged to bring home and Obama is doing that and now they are part of the unemployed. We aren't offerring them much more of a welcome than we did the Vets of Veitnam. We are a broken country and the few of you doing well to do so little to benefit very many others aught to be ashamed of your selves.

Ever notice how much more observant you are to the Chess game when you are looking over others shoulders? Obama has made mistakes, it's not difficult to do when you've got the weight of the world on your shoulders and those in your own country who should have put forth every effort to get us all through this past four years instead put forth every effort to stop anything of benefit so you can try to get in the game because you are so sure from where you are sitting on the bench that you have all the answers.

You all know damned well the Republicans were shocked to loose to Obama in the first place. It was because their hearts were black and so they set out from that moment to knock down our own president.

Jeb has it right when he says that there has never been such a divide in the parties. Reagan, Bush 41 could not have accomplished what they had had there not been more cooperation between the parties. Clinton came in and he did alright and we would have loved him through it all had he been a Kennedy.

We choose sides and choose to hate and disrespect all who do not think as we do. We refuse to become united and work together as a community that greatly needs one another.

God Help us all - whoever it is you call your god. Wish another Joseph Smith would come around - well looks like that's what you will be voting for. Can anyone come up with some positive things to share about either men? Can we all get a bit more info? Can we all just give an ounce more compassion to our fellow man? Can we all just be colorblind for however long it takes to think that was your brother you were reaching out to, though they didn't ask.

Ah - sorry for the rant!
