I agree with Gene, he loved his wife and would be saddened to think you all have nothing better to do than spread idol gossip. This is not about a persons family or friends, it is about a intelligent business man, who will be missed very much. Think about it , he left everything to his wife for a good reason. She is going to continue his legacy, as she is the one he entrusted to do so. I intend to support D & D always, and think others should do so as well to continue the legacy for Dennis. Dennis and I did not always see eye to eye, but I never wished him any bad luck. I can't understand the pain he was in with everything that was going on. Dennis fired me in 2005, was I pissed, yes. Calling the cops on Dennis was one of the worst things I have ever had to do.
I have a note that Dennis had someone else write down for him due to the amount of Crown he had that day. In this letter he said that he understands why I made the choice to stay at the bar, due to my family, and that all he ever wanted was for me and Jr to run the bar. He also said that he still loved Lena, she is a good girl, but that she does not know what she is doing.
For the record: I am leaving this bar, and all of this mess behind me. I stayed to provide for my wife, and my two boys. This bar has done nothing but make Heather and I fight. I don't agree with alot of the things that have happened in the last year, but I cannot control what other people do.
To the Hess family:
I only know Kris and Shell. The minute I heard about Dennis I thought about you. I hope that someday you will see the position I am in. I do deeply care for you both, and hate the fact the all this has happened. I wish nothing but the best for you, and all the family. I cannot image the pain you are in. If you all hate me for staying here I understand, but know that I have the same feelings of wanting to take care of my family as you. GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!!!!
For those of you that think you know me, but say hateful things about me, NONE OF YOU KNOW ME.
I hope that you will have enough courage to come to my face and say these things. At least then I could respect you a little.
In closing I want to thank those of you who have been supportive during this hard time. May God watch over you, and bless you and yours.

He was a very public man, and so will his records be. I am his friend, and he was by no means a saint like you all portray him to be. He was a man who lived on the edge and made mistakes, just as we all did. Perhaps you should look in his family's history.
