Police: Mom Kills Baby By Amputating Arms

This lady needs to have her arms cut off and let her bleed to death. Anyone that can do that to a child, especially theirs, should suffer until they die.

Have you read the whole story? This woman was suffering from postpartum psychosis. Having a mental illness myself, I know it can make you do things the "normal you" wouldn't do. This woman is now in a mental hospital, getting the help she deserves. With help, she can become the good mother she used to be before her third daughter was born.

This story was from Nov. 2004.
The woman is in a mental hospital.
Her mind and heart both broken by this deed.
Her husband,was some kind of religous freak, all involved in some cult church crap. He and the "pastor" of said church frowned on her takeing the meds the Dr.s prescribed for depression.
She felt guilt for having the postpartum depression, and more for not being able to pray away the dispair she felt. She was emotionaly abused by husband and church, the two things that she should have been saved by.
But,even after warnings by her doctors that her mind and body needed a break from pregnancy he had her popping out kids like a pez dispenser,all the while berateing her for being weak and not loveing her kids, God or him enough to over come mental illness with out medication.
He is the one who got away and should of been charged too. He and all his ilk.

I'm just glad she is locked up. Hopefully she will never be let out again to have another momentary lapse of reason. They cost too much coming from her.

This is the most ridiculous thing I have heard. Sounds like you are making excuses for this piece of scum. There are to many cases where the woman says they did this because of depression and then they get off. Even if you are depressed and you did this you should still go to jail. Actually she should be raped and murdered thats the only punishment that would fit her.

Leigha I too have a mental illness but I would never hurt another person in my life. I might go on a spending spree when I have no money, I might get angry at someone and yell and scream but I would never touch them, I might get so depressed I would want to die right then and there. Mental illness is not an excuse to maime anyone. If a person knows there is something wrong with the mainstream of society then you get help. Alot of mentally ill people ignore their illness for whatever reason and do not get the help they need. It still doesn't mean the person with the mental illness can just do anything to anyone and get by with it. She may get help while in prison for her mental illness but she still needs to pay for her crime.

when any person on here has been through postpartum psychosis, then you can judge. yes, it is a REAL diagnosed disease as much as any other of which you take meds for just like you would diabetes. what happened was a direct cause of not taking the medication as kidney failure would be for not taking your insulin if that was what you were prescribed to function. this is not an "excuse" for this woman. she is not "getting away" with anything. no one is asking you to feel sorry for her. she has an illness. she was denied her meds (by guilt? by religious insistance? perhaps either) and therefore committed an unthinkable act. she will suffer for her actions eternally by either receiving no help and continuing with severe, unchecked mental illness, or she will receive help and forever realize the horror she committed while she was "legally insane." what else do you want? isn't that enough? day in and day out to know what you've done to your child. personally, cutting my arms off would be the better choice. it's over in an instant. guilt is forever.

there's a possible neanderthal connection to this case

The last thing I heard was that she was released from the mental hospital because she had a brain tumor and was going to die from it. That was at least 1-2 years ago that I heard this. I have not been able to find out what happened to her since then.
