It's a shame that things like this can happen here in Massachusetts; or anywhere else in the US for that matter.
Mistakes can happen with anything; including with the record keeping at a courthouse. And, when mistakes get made such as this, someone can wind up with an arrest warrant who should not have one. That being said, did the police really need to put this woman in leg shackles over this? Even if we all want to agree that the police were just doing their jobs, why the heck did they feel that this woman must be placed in leg shackles? Were the cops in fear of a 39 year old woman who had a spotless record? Or, do the cops just have to treat everyone like public enemy number one; regardless of the actual circumstances? Or, is it important for many cops to degrade the public who they are supposed to be protecting and serving? The police "acted stupidly" when they put this woman in leg shackles over this. The Haverill Police should be ashamed of themselves! |
