typical Repub, can't trust the turncoats

I know a guy in Brattleboro who was pulled over for no turn signal, Since he wasn't drinking his fine was $203.00...what a rackett.
One sip over the line sweet jesus one sip beyond. what's wrong with this picture he pulls over as signaled admits to drinking and doesn't try to outrun the law either in the car or foot. didn't take a cheap struggle while being cuffed then goes peacefully and agrees to all and the punishment. He doesn't understand the system of procedure when they pull you over.

These pro nuclear guys are such big alcoholic lushes...why are pro nuke guys all drunks and pot heads?

He started out as a Democrat, a decent State Auditor, and a Navy reservist. Now he's a Republican, a gubernatorial candidate, and a drunk driver. Salmon is on a downward spiral.
Remember on average you drive drunk 104 times before your first time getting caught for driving drunk?
Anyways, anyone who volunteers to go to Iraq as a soldier/sailor is a hero to me...I wonder if the Iraq war has affected him? |

.086 an people have the guy label a drunk, the guy wouldn't have even failed if the limit was still .01 but the witch hunt feel good about themselves government types lowered it for PC reasons.
A 46 year old below .01 is less of a menace on the road than the average old person that hasn't had anything to drink and seeing as how he has a brain to start out with less of a menace slightly over the limit than the average moron on the road. |
should have been .1 instead of .01 oops
Tom is not a candidat for Governor. Are you thinking of Brian Dubie perhaps? |
As long as the guy doesn't drink on the job what business is it of ours? It's not like he was totally smashed and had coke in the car? Really - Who cares if he is Dem or Rep? We don't wonder about that with other people who get stopped for DUI or more serious crime - Like what is Mike Christmas? Rep or Dem? It's stupid - this is why our country is so messed up now - we are all Americans - we should be of one party for the betterment of the Country. But like race we like to diferenciate ourselves to make ourselves appear better to oursleves. go figure?

I am truly beginning to love reading these posts, where someone busted for driving drunk, and just barely, did so because they are a republican. This incident does not cause me to loose any respect for Tom Salmon who I personally know is a model citizen. Perhaps some should except that everyone has a fault, for Tom the difference between drunk driving and not was the equivalent of mouth wash, so the moral of the story is don't try to use mouth wash to get alcohol off of your breath because, that's how you will get a DWI.

For God's sake...the guy had a few glasses of wine! Who hasn't done that? He's taking complete responsibilty and you have to admire him for that.

what Mr salmon did and was wrong to drive at that point but as you age and your perspective changes on many levels and judgment varies so at some time we all have had a moment of frustration in some avenue of our life plans. As to the above remarks some are just anti gov and more just plying on. Either way and the more reasonable thought say he dealt with the ordeal on a respectable level and no discontent for the law or the system. hard to spot in a liberal state and where most women in a union wear the joke strap while their femi-husband are tending to the nature. I am no fan of salmon or his gov attachment but I am a fan of due process and responsibility. Bring it on baby your on

Listen to yourself, people! You're making EXCUSES for a certified DRUNK DRIVER! Oh, it's OK because you like his politics? Or is this article just bringing out all the habitual drunk drivers to downplay the seriousness of the crime? Did it occur to you that the blood alcohol threshold is set where it is for a reason? The reason is that above 0.08 your reflexes are impaired and you're DANGEROUS! It doesn't matter if it was red wine or moonshine, it's alcohol! Drunk drivers have killed a lot of people, and they're still doing it, and that's why we hire cops to keep the rest of us safe from them. Tom Salmon needs to live by the same rules as the rest of us, and catch a ride or call a taxi when he's had a few, rather than endangering men, women, and children in cars and on foot.

N C W must be into it for he has got my blog asking backwards WOW keep up the good work in twisting chubby checker
So what is this, the people who called the police said he was dead drunk...who gamed his blood alcohol level?
Notice the Bellow Falls police didn’t admit that people call it in...and he grew up and lived in Bellows Falls?
Hmm? |
It appears to me that he is living by the same rules as the rest of us. He has admitted to the crime and has owned up to his wrong. He has come out and said he made a mistake and thus deserves to be punished. He will get punished, probably worse then the average person would get for the same crime. Should he have called a cab, but at .085 it is very very possible that he didn't feel impaired. I do not like the fact he chose to drive drunk, but I do admire his candor and willingness to own up to his mistakes. |
I guess I should restate something...I do not like the fact he chose to drive while under the influence, because I think everyone can agree that at .08 you are not drunk, but you are impaired.
I have to agree with you (DEW) I would rather have some like Tom Salmon behind the wheel than a state trooper doing in excess of 100 miles an hour for no reason, having the Head of the VT. State police see you doing this and nothing happens, I guess Its true what say "Its not who you know, Its who you bl**". Tom Salmon said today on WCAX that he would plead guilty, dumb ass ought to just use the insanity defense, he served overseas hell that give him the right to commit any crime and just cop a plea. |
