A true Mayor that cares about his town, would do everything he could to sustain North Plainfield Rescue's operations. Instead he looks for every excuse possible to shut them down and expand Fire-Rescue services. As a resident of North Plainfield. I do not want my taxes to go to the Fire Department Ambulances! They come out and the first question is... Where is your insurance card. TERRIBLE... SAVE VOLUNTEERS!!!!!! Its time to get this administration out!

I laugh every time I see the sign that says "proud community". Get rid of Giordano's administration and then we will be proud.

What mayor?...He is the council's yes man... the only influence he has is to keep north plainfield with the only paid fire department. I pray this town will one day rise from its bad admin.

Taxes are too high. We are one of the few towns with no clean up once a year for household stuff, now people take it to other towns. No more paid fire department. Time for a change ,but its all the same crap.

Being a resident of Watchung, I do not know the situation at hand with the Paid Fire Department or the current municipal tax rate in North Plainfield so I will not comment on either. I am assuming the comments prior are from Residents of North Plainfield Community either past or present .

If you feel so strongly against your representation then why have your allowed the democratic government represent you for so long. How can we as a people take control of the White House when we can't even control our own local governing house. People stop complaining and take action! "NP HOPE" your comment is simple yet very powerful.

Good Luck NP Residents!

The problem is that due to the politics in this town we aren't able to make a difference and unless more citizens are willing to take time out and come to the council meetings or come out to vote there is nothing a few individuals can do agains the council, and the biggest problem is that some individuals are to busy to be able to make a difference. In you look at the council metings wich are online At npccr . Org.
http://communityrights.wordpress.com/2012/04/...
If you look at the videos you can clearly see how much a citizen is able to do, thank god elections is this year, but can we really make a difference? Hopefully there is enough people that want to care about their town to make a difference. Please whatch the hole video and make your own comments thanks.

As a recident o north Plainfield I em disgusted to see how the council members talk to our youth and the mayor stands There and does nothing to prevent these public humiliations.  The town claims to have gang prevention programs but Maybe they need a program that teaches out representatives how to talk to people and than maybe less of our youth will become less hateful towards authority. And finally how dare you decline to north Plainfield rescu squad free medical cervises that would save the residents enough money to possibly afford their home and prevent miss mortgagee payments and more importantly they have a proven program that teaches the youth valuable life skills.  As a parent and a citizen of northplaifield I expect the community to rally at the council meetings and demand justice for all.

I viewed a couple council meeting videos like the "Concerned Citizen" suggested. The mayor clearly cannot run his own town instead he defers to the council to be his voice. Skip needs to skip right out of his seat on the council. Most people who behave like he does has an inferiority complex. They are obviously of a different breed. Everyone has a soft spot in their hearts for volunteers..well then again they have no heart.

My family has four generations who all went through NP School system. A lot has changed over the years. Just look at our downtown. Its hard to find any true american shop or crusine. I want to leave just like many others but between the economy and NP taxation rate its nearly impossible. My husband says it right, we cant afford to move and we cant afford to stay, the life of a NP resident.

(Former resident of N.P.) Tax rates are too high for a town with low income. The town doesn't do anything for you and the Council members need to go and get some sensitivity classes for the way the approach majority of situations and proposals. Fire depart. needs to stop being a paid fire dept. So N.P. Taxes can be used for something better then a Red scrolled Text Board sign out infront of the Police dept.

I just caught up on my council meeting videos. I see the president did not have anything to say to the man who challenged him. Interesting...The young lady who addressed him spoke well. I am glad to see youth standing up for what they believe in. As the saying goes "if you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything" I thinks it is pretty shameful on the council and especially the mayor to keep trying to play tough with these volunteers. It reflects poorly on them. One would think they would be more careful especially since it is reelection time. Well in the words of NP Hope..take your opinions to the polls! Lastly to Mr. Mayor instead of trying to make this insurance issue a case you should have been trying to seek the truth...not even a phone call? Its pretty ridiculous that you keep hiding behind alledged case. Your still the mayor..oh no the council and fire cheif run the town..nevermind.The captain mentioned in one of the last few meeting that the borough signed for a certified letter addressed to the rescue squad. Mr Mayor it seems like you guys may have the bigger problem..bigger than you claim the squad to have. This is shameful. Who doesn't want to help volunteers, kids, and old people? Oh right Giordano doesn't

Daily Horoscope for May 21

Cancer

Take care because it's a rather downbeat day. You feel as though you have the cares of the world on your shoulders, and maybe you have. You've certainly got to cope with a lot of responsibility and duty, and there could also be delays and disappointments that need to be negotiated. Yes, it's a fairly miserable day but try to rise above it, otherwise you'll soon start to feel really wretched and sorry for yourself.
