Before it's too late, tell your family members the best way to dispose of or transfer your gun collection. Some seniors already know enough to dispose of their property before they become senile or incapacitated from old age. A gun collection can be difficult to dispose of. In antigun cities like Chicago, you could make a criminal out of a family member. If we could eliminate most pigs (cops), eliminating our gun collections could be easy. The pigs are obsessed with gun possession. They think every gun owner is a potential pig-killer (murderer). The typical pig believes his safety trumps our safety. The typical pig actually thinks he makes us safe or more safe.

There were just three things I liked about New Jersey: The tomatoes, the beach, and the sight of it in my rear-view mirror as I was leaving. I live in a free(er) place now.

I don't see how they may can even call it a 'buy-back' when they didn't sell the item to begin with. . It's just another way to demonise a right. . I wonder: Will they have porn, bible, koran, torah, dictionary and thesaurus buy-backs in the future? . ;o) .

Buffalo has held gun buyback programs on and off for many years. 95% of the guns are either old guns left in closets and drawers that get sold to the buyback by widows and people that don't know what to do with them. There are some decent ones but a lot of rusted junk. Once in awhile a gun gets turned in that was a criminals and that is when an elderly or religious relative finds it in the home usually after the crook it belonged to is locked up or dead.... They make a big deal about saying ALL guns taken in are destroyed but I don't believe that for a second.... The good ones or collectible ones end up not being destroyed and they get taken by the people in power....

"The good ones or collectible ones end up not being destroyed and they get taken by the people in power...." . Indeed! And likely used as 'throw-aways' at <ahem> 'crime scenes' where the ~criminal~ supposedly had a gun that was pointed at the cop. .

More than one gun has been turned in to a cop and ended up as a throwdown. There was a case of a cop being shot near here years ago where an old Colt .38 from 1913 that had floated around for years was used. A lot of that was covered up by some very scrambling higher up officials in the city it happened in.

On the subject of gun buy-backs.
1. It would be interesting to see what the gun theft rates were before the buy back.
2. Wonder if any ATF machine guns from mexico were bought back.

In the former, one wonders what the violent crime rate will look like after the so-called buy-back as opposed to before. . In the latter, Mexico wouldn't have a 'gun problem' if they were to simply do two things: . [1] Got rid of their idiot anti-gun laws . [2] Worked overtime to improve their own economic picture.

Also makes you wonder how many old $10 Mosin Nagant are sitting in someone's garage just waiting for a $200 buy back.
