Since when has Jack Sweeny ever been concerned about doing the right thing for the people of El Dorado County?

He is intent on running this county into the ground.His long time friends own the property in question and he plans on getting this deal to go through.

This relocation of the county dump is just bad politics.A BOS member stands to gain and the residents stand to lose.This site is in close proximity to many homes and schools and this should not be allowed to happen.The site is actually too small to serve the couty's needs very far into the future so why even go there?Well it is kind of obvious isn't it.Thanks for nothing Jack Sweeny

Perhaps the citizens of El Dorado County should find out where Jack Sweeny and the other BOS members live and dunp their trash at the edge of their properties in protest of this improper move. This act of civil disobedience would get some attention, I'm sure.

Why is this so bad? Have you reveiwed the business practices of Waste Connections? They take care of their facilities annd basically this would only be a "temporary resting area" for the trash. I think this is a great idea. If they are able to increase their size and process more volume this would mean more jobs for El Dorado County residents. The current location would have the ability to home several other business bring more revenue to the County. I think it is so funny how residents here love to bitch about money in the county and then have the nerve to get pissed off when something like this is proposed! Just like Wal-Mart, no one wanted Wal-Mart either but everyone shops there, hypocrits!

I guess you have completely missed the point young lady.The proposed site is in close proximity to many neighborhoods,schools and businesses it would adversely affect.Do you understand that?Have you been to the current facility?It is loud and dirty with dust,smells,and the constant rumble of diesel engines.Why should this be put so close to homes and schools?There are plenty of other sites in the county that would be more appropriate and we will still get the benefit of the local jobs.The dump will be moved and the current site turned into shopping so your comments on that are not making any valid point.I guess you are too young to be angered at local politicians using their influence to make money for their friends while doing harm to large numbers of tax payers.The dump will be moved and the old site will be developed regardless.We would just like the dump put in a better place.Your comments about Walmart are way off the mark too.How do you make this stuff up?People were excited about getting Walmart here.They even did a survey that supported that before building it.Where is the hypocracy in that?The only ones complaining where local businesses that would be hurt by it and a handful of those who don't like Walmarts business practices.You should really pay closer attention to what is going on before you comment.

I think that many people on here have given good reasons why this is a bad idea yet you don't give any good reasons why you think it is a good idea.The increase in volume and jobs that you point to would all still be realized at another location so why so close to schools and neighbors?I don't think you have given this any serious thought.I think you must just be some airhead that wants to be contrary or that you have some intere$t in this.

it is pretty easy to find out where these filth bags live.YOu can use property tax records to find where they live and then to administer a little "mountain justice".Watch out Jack!

All this talk of "mountain justice"for the ethically challenged Jack Sweeney is great but what we really need to do is vote this joke of a "man"out of office.I understand that he is running unopposed.Too bad.We need fewer "good ol' boys" like him in office.Deals are made with a wink and a nod giving away funds to friends and business associates.He needs to swim back to whatever sewer he came from.

In reply to Garbage Girl, it appears she is making a judgement without knowing any of the facts. There are severe health, traffic, and business risks in putting a dump in the middle of a residential and commercial area. And this area has very limited access. If Garbage Girl wants to name call without knowing what she is saying, she just makes a fool of herself and needs to study. Or else she works for Waste Connections, which apparently doesn't care who it hurts as long as it gets the money. Waste Connections wants exclusive contracts without a bid process. What are they afraid of? And the supervisor and his developer friends don't care who they hurt, as long as they are in charge and make money. Jack Sweeney is a bully, and is well known in this county as one. He and Garbage Girl deserve each other.

I feel sorry for the people in District 3 who have to be represented by Jack Sweeney. All he has ever been is a thug and a bully, and will step on anyone, including close relatives, to get what he wants. His relatives will tell you that! He wants money and he wants his developer friends to profit, and he will lie to anyone to make that happen. Now he's decided that it's OK to just ruin the whole Missouri Flat area with a dump, just to get his stupid shopping center in the place where the dump is now. What in the world makes him think that people in EDH and Cameron Park or the tourist traffic will come to Highway 49 to shop? That's a joke, but his friends will make money. I wouldnt' be surprised if they're all stockholders in Waste Connections. Whatever he smokes must be some powerful stuff.

I just looked over the plans for the new dump location and can't believe it.The proximity to schools and neighborhoods is such that I can't believe it is even being considered.Who came up with this location?Who owns the land and what are their connections?There has to be $ome reason for such a poor coice being made.El Dorado County has lots of areas more suited for this.Oh, and Sstylishgirl....STFU
