Well we need harsher penalties for these offenders it seems. Or maybe just the old fashioned way and bust up their faces a little to get the message across. It amazes me that a person get get so much time for a little grass or some crack rock but the ones who abuse woman and children, rape and molest are put right back out to re offend.

If you're in anabusive relationship GET OUT! Take what you can carry in a bag and just run. And anyone who has furnature or appliances that still work that you're getting rid of donate to the freeman center because the lucky woman that do get out they do it with very little if nothing at all.

As we read on the Woman dies page it is hard to get out..
I would like to know what the killer/ domestic abuser witnessed and endured growing up,
I would bet he faced beatings and verbal abuse at the hands of his parents and/or any and all caregivers.
It is up to parents to teach children physical and verbal restraint..

He may have been dealt an unfair hand in life, but there comes a time where you decide what kind of life you lead. I come from a large family with a poor background. Some of my siblings chose to mimic their background, some, such as myself, chose to do everything in their power to be the exact opposite of that. Life is about choices, and you can choose not to be a product of your environment. It is up to you to create your destiny, and if you choose wisely, good things are bound to happen.
Parents and lovers who themselves learned violence in their own childhoods will in turn habitually react abusively towards their own children and lovers.
It is not so easy to choose peace and nonviolence when violence; verbal, physical, emotional and sexual, has been a daily lesson from infancy on ..
Violence is a learned behavior, not so easy to resist, especially when it has been ingrained in ones psyche from infancy on...

I don't like how they ended the article - stating that when women leave, they get killed. This is a frightening reality in some cases, but a bad way to end an article on domestic violence. Instead they should have promoted the services Freeman offers to help these women escape. Stupid Eagle.

I believe in reincarnation,
I believe that
spirits previously held in male bodies are attracted to female infants and children..
spirits previously held in female bodies are attracted to male infants and children..
spirits can also move freely in and out of adult bodies easily when adults are living in unconscious states while awake..intoxication qualifies but is not necessary for the spirits access to living persons.
A caregiver could be successfully practicing nonviolent parenting, when all of a sudden a wild tantrum or crying jag comes on..
In my opinion , this crying jag or tantrum could be the arrival of a spirit, such as the one leaving Rebecca C. Moulton, who is afraid and/or angry..
It is important that the parent remain loving and in control, and continues to resist abusive physical and verbal reactions to tantrums and crying...

i do not believe that is the description of reincarnation. Reincarnation is the rebirth of one who has lived before. I have never heard of someone being invaded by a spirit unless you are talking about possession. Much different from reincarnation beliefs.

It's not a new problem; it's been around a long time in Berkshire County. It's just that the men (and women) who are the abusers just get a slap on the hand and are set free to do it again. I was told by the judge it was "my job to clean the house ALL the time" and basically that I deserved it.
No, I didn't deserve it and after many years, didn't put up with it anymore either!
The justice system in BC really stinks! And not just in domestic violence either!

I couldn't agree more, what an awful and scary way to end an article about a young woman's death. The eagle really needs some help in the writing department.

What makes men or women do violent actions is of their own selfish motives and fear of losing control over victims...It is better to live alone and be independent and not live in or marry this type of person..Signs of violent nature are trying to control partner and destructive nature and no control of temper..Beware ladies and men.

I blame the top officials in this city. Granted they may not have been able to prevent this crime, but do you really think this is the last we've seen of violence in this city?? Stronger presence on the street from law enforcement and tougher judges. But no, let's just worry about Park Square and 3rd Thursdays.

From 2006-2008, Western Massachusetts had the state's highest percentage of children in foster and residential placement, and the region had the second-highest number of open child protection cases, according to the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families.

This is a very good point. I work with damaged kids every day. The horror stories they tell of their childhoods would make your skin crawl but they are so desensitized to violence, they tell the tales like they are jokes, laughing about the brutality that was inflicted on them. It's disturbing. This person is right - you live what you learn, and it's really difficult to unlearn trauma so severe.

I stay away from Berkshire County, especially Pittsfield, because during the Spring of 1998, "Luciforo" tried to jail me after filing multiple "ethics" complaints against my Dad. "Luciforo" has layered his bullying of me for over the past 13 years now -- or since the Spring of 1996. I have been harassed, threatened, blacklisted from jobs, fired from employment, and watched members of my family be persecuted due to "Luciforo's" strangle-hold over Pittsfield Politics. Moreover, since the summer of 2004, Denis E Guyer has been spreading vicious, hate-filled rumors against me the people of the Pittsfield area. So, my answer is "NO!". I will NOT be moving back to Berkshire County to run for office. I do NOT want to become another one of "Luciforo's" victims of political persecution.
