Pittsfield petition calls for topless sunbathing

I dunno man, some women I'd prefer they keep their tops ON

I find it curious that the woman wants to be able to expose her breasts at a beach but does not want to show her face on TV. The commodity she refers to whereby men pay to see a womans breast is a choice by the men and women involved. It is in a private setting and there is no comparison. She should use some common sense.

I believe they should allow it, the woman should have the same rights as a man, who goes topless and all you can see is beer belly and plumbers crack, besides I for one do not see anything wrong with a womens breast!

Directed towards the mayor's comment, Katherine Gundelfinger said that she WASN'T interested in a nude beach just a topless beach, so it was unnecessary for him to make the comment that he did. There is a big difference between a nude beach and a topless beach; and it is easy for the mayor to not understand because males can sunbathe topless already. From a women's point of view, maybe we don't want the tan lines or maybe we don't want to feel confined just because a women's chest isn't acceptable the way a man's chest is. In a way, it is discrimination; if Katherine Gundelfinger wants to have a petition online that people can sign, I would gladly support her.

A women should be allowed to walk on the beach just like a man can. Breasts are nothing to be embarrased of. If breasts really are the issue, I have seen many men with more breast tissue than your average woman. This is about equality.

I, like you, would love to be able to sunbathe topless, but will not do it in public, at least around here (you'd have to pay me). I want the tan, but I don't want people looking at my breasts anymore than I would want them looking at my bare ass. I call that FOREPLAY. Your goal is not only naive, it will disrupt the peaceful and tranquil atmosphere that one can sometimes achieve at the lake. This is Pittsfield, not Provincetown. Get a private back yard, go to a seculed setting or go to a nude beach. Go to the nudist resort in nearby Hancock, or the place on route 9 where many liberal men go. Infiltrate that place and make it more women friendly! I think you want people to see your breasts. You put your name to this! If you really want to take your top off, you will find a place! Your actions are simply encouraging sexist views, you are really making the modern woman look bad. This isn't the 60's. Besides, have you seen the number of registered sex offenders in the area? Do you want to be fodder for their fantasies? Please don't ruin it for the rest of us realists. The Pittsfield Police don't have the manpower to write parking tickets for people parking in handicapped places, must they have to be concerned with policing people in Pittsfield acting badly at the site of your exposed breasts? Do you really expect the mayor of Pittsfield to respond appropriately? Not only is he a member of the 'ol boys club but his wife has been operated on three times for breast cancer. Pull your head out of your ass! Even if his comments were unprofessional, c'mon, what did you expect? Get real. Join the 21st century. How can you expect an open response in a society that won't let you spank your child? We don't live in Europe. We have laws to protect us and you are seeking to undo them. There is a time and more than one place for everything. Unfortunately I don't even think you will even see my comments because it's obvious you don't go online, truly consider your place in society, or look beyond the box, pardon the pun. If it's not already in effect in a town in this day and age, there are too many laws already in effect that will prevent it from being allowed. I'd rather see cigarettes banned from the beach than swimwear requirements! This will never fly. Not in this town. Even if it were passed, someone would cite something that would ban it. This community tries to be family oriented. This town won't allow men (or women) to pay to see topless women, do you really think they will allow it to happen with no benefit to the tax base? Put your energy into something more productive, perhaps, starting with educating yourself and others. Please don't stir things up at what is one of my favorite sometimes serene places. Haven't you run into enough freaks up there already? For God's sake go to a tanning booth, and put your clothes on like everyone else when at the beach. I don't want to see what you have anymore than I want to see some guy proudly displaying his package, even if he is hot. Wear a smaller top. Do you really want guys looking at your breasts? Seems to me like you do. Your actions will probably already disturb this somewhat peaceful setting. Thanks. Idiot.
