Bogus gang e-mail makes rounds, police say

I saw a group of PHS kids harassing a driver who was pulling out on to East street. they where banging on his hood and yelling at him and he must have been at least 65 or so scared to death. I won't say what color the kids were because I'm not a racist. So be carefull out there,

The recent events in Pittsfield should warn anyone of any violent attack. We all know these gangs exist in our area so the possibilities are there already. I believe that everyone should be extremely careful and woman twice as aware of their surroundings. You never know

I really wish people would go to snopes.com or do some kind of research before passing around false email forwards (which most of them are).

What about the one circulating about the "Bloods"? Evidently they are less than thrilled that one of their own is in jail in Pittsfield. Word is they plan an 'appearance' at both the mall and Walmart to show their dissatisfaction with his current status and make their case for his 'early release'....this one has been circulating around for a couple of weeks too.

Cops should do something about the speeding. Speed limit is 25 in front of PHS , drivers do 40...children should bang on hoods more if it will wake up drivers to the problem of SPEEDING

anything for these idiots not to have to do real police work right? anything for these trogs not to get their hands dirty and protect and serve. they know who the gang members are in town, they know where they are... but they refuse to do anything about it. i wonder who is paying who more, the people of pittsfield or the gangs...

I once heard that some kids were seen walking down a sidewalk right at dusk and they were supposed to be looking very suspicious. I am not going to mention their color as i am for sure not a racist but i also heard they were eating chicken

You are right.. because all those kids obey the traffic signals and wait til they get the walk signal right? They never cut out in front of cars. What was that guy thinking driving on his right of way.

Bogus? This really happened in Florida. Emails went around and people got hurt. You never know, so be careful!!

Insults aside, kids don't generally harass old people unless they have a reason, so you're probably right.

With all the gang violence in the past few months i think that all people should be a little more aware of their surroundings. I think that most of this city is dangerous and i personally will not be going out at night if i dont have a good reason and i will be staying out of certin neighborhoods. Even that wont work any more because every place in pittsfield is getting worse. These E mails might be a hoax but people have got to be aware of the dangers that threaten their safety. I would not be suprised that there will be gang activity soon that effects the inocent citezins of this once great city. It is not a safe nice place to live any more and people should be aware of whats going on.

The world is the way it is because of 'legal gangs' using billboard, truck radio, tv and other static ad space to turn children and adults into unconcious consumers and roadragers...
What do YOU suggest to stop speeding on East St in front of PHS and on North?
If a Police presence cannot be funded to fine drivers and make speeding a serious infraction, stressed teenagers acting out may be one part of a solution which will deter speeding in front of their School...

I think people are over-reacting, yes there is gang activity but as long as your not selling drugs, affiliated w/ gang members or walking through the commen at night you have nothing to worry about
