Stockbridge sends Kripalu a tax bill

Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health has received its first tax bill from the town - $61,222. But as yet, it is unclear whether the nonprofit organization will be liable for the real estate taxes.

And, in the years to come, there will be the additional yearly revenues derived from the multi-million dollar, 80 room addition, currently being constructed, with interest-free financing. GMH; I presume you're already doing diligent research into Kripalu's tax filings, as you have done with WAMC and The Mount.

I know that mine will be one voice heard loud and clear by every official that I can contact! I am embarassed to admit that I had no idea as to the tax exempt status. I am sure no one on that board of directors refers to Ma. as taxachusetts.All good things must come to an end and I hope this is the end for Kripalu's free ride.

Mind you, the Sarleys and other top execs will keep their obscene salaries -- they'll just have another round of layoffs to compensate for the lack of revenue.
