Teenager defends father accused of murder

This is ridiculous. Why is the Eagle even printing this? Children of murderers should be in therapy, not giving statements to the local newspaper. How is this news worthy. Come one Berkshire Eagle!

Why can't the Berkshire Eagle leave this poor girl alone? She has obviously been through more than any 15 year old should ever have to go through. Ofcourse she doesn't want to hear her father called a "murderer"! Life is hard enough for teenagers these days without this being thrown in her face everyday! She still has to go to school every day and face other kids who can be really cruel! Is the Berkshire Eagle really this desperate for a front page story? I think it's pathetic!

The Berkshire Eagle puts an article in the paper to sensationalize the news. There only goal is to sell more papers. There are issues that go beyond reporting. The Eagle has become a bottom feeder paper. This should not be news.

who is currently responsible for this child? to let a minor speak to the paper is ridiculous.

To the daughter: I'm so sorry you are going through this. Your father is a sick man who needs help. I hope you can find a professional who can help you work through all of the awful things you have witnessed in your young life and hopefully you can have a happy, healthy future. Please do not make excuses for a man who beats and controls women; he is one of many. He is still your dad and I'm sure you love him but he needs to pay for his actions and maybe one day he will be honest with himself and get the help he needs.

Well we know where her father is, do we really think her mother can be with her 24-7? It says the kid left a message with the Berkshire Eagle, I have a feeling the mother knew nothing about it!

Nothing has been mentioned about the daughter's mother. Does she exist? Maybe the teenaged daughter lived with the father? She was there for the Nov 30 incident. What are the police saying now? "Oh, maybe we should have listened to the daughter after the Nov 30 assault. Oh, well."

I really feel bad for this girls, but she is in denial. Obv he is inocent until proven guilty but it looks like an open and shut case. This girl is so sure her father is not capable of murder but she sure let everyone believe he is by her statement. Personaly from the way we controlled this women and knowing there was past violence I for one think he did it. And I have no sympathy for women beaters!

Because of his long history of abusiveness even his children become immune to his behavior and the intent of his actions. Unfortunately this is part of the reason this woman stayed and is now dead. Abusers are predators, they are all too often given chances because they continually apologize for their behavior and those who love them want so badly to believe that they don't do these terrible things on purpose. Maybe not in his right mind at the time because rage takes over, but without a doubt, he is a murderer. His daughter needs some counseling regarding these issues before she allows the same type of man to enter her life.

I think you all should mind your own business and don't pretend you know anything about the girl or her father or her mother. Don't judge when you don't know.

It's pretty sad that most of you on here can sit and judge a family that you don't know. First of all, the daughter lives with her mother in Lee, not Lenox as someone else who pretended to know them stated. I do know them. The daughter is a beautiful, headstrong girl who want to believe the best in her father. She had some great times with him and it hurts her to see this stuff printed in the paper. She, like all children, wanted to defend the good person that she saw.
Also, seems a little coincedental that after meeting with detectives the other day, a new article is printed in the Eagle. Leave this girl and her mother alone. Neither have anything to do with this case. They weren't there that night and they don't know what happened!! Get a life people.

Okay lets get one thing straight 1st off I cannot be w/my daughter 24/7 I had NO clue about her phone call and not only that this messge was made 3days after the assault took place NOT yeterday and 2nd I live in Lee not Lenox so for ppl. who THINK they know really dont...My daughter has been through alot in the past year and a half including losing her best friend at the age of 14 last January....Berkshire Eagle you need to stop this BS and find something else to write about!!! lEAVE MY dAUGHTER OUT OF YOUR ARTICLES!!!!!!!!!She has nothing to do w/what happened.....

To all the people who think that they know everything and have all the answers-my niece has a very ,loving ,supportive family. She has an involved mother who has been with her every step of the way. This whole ordeal has rocked our family to the core and the Eagle shoving it in our faces has topped it all off. Everyone needs to back off and allow us to deal with this horendous tragedy. Exploiting a child is horrible. Shame on whomever reported this story and the paper for printing it.And also,thanks so much for putting on the front page!!!!

Who are you anyway? You don't know anything!!Do you think her family "let" her speak to the paper? We can't be on top of her all the time. The paper shouldn't be repoting something a minor says anyway ,especilly a sensative issue such as this. Obviously, she doesn't want to admit her father that she loves did this.

This beautiful young lady did what ANY daughter would do - DEFEND her DAD (regardless of what he's done)- but Berkshire Eagle - REALLY, this is newsworthy why? I look forward to the day this rag is shut DOWN - DO NOT print ANYTHING about this young lady again - it's JUST WRONG.

The Berkshire Eagle sucks ass...Always have. Give it up and plant a tree or two.

It is just goes to show the Eagle will do anything for a story.I can not believe that somebody would print an article like that.The girl has been through enough Leave her and the family alone!!!How could even write that article do you not have a heart,maybe you dont have children,apparently you who wrote this article was in it for a paycheck not caring who you are hurting.Nothing better to write about then a 15 year old and throw stuff in her face!!!!It is just wrong and I hope you are ashamed of yourself.do you not realize teenagers these days have in bad enough without the help of the paper making them feel worse.Find something else to write about and leave the inocent children out of your stories.And get your facts straight!
