I am surprised Echostar lasted this long in McKeesport. I bet a certain mayor is having an absolute meltdown. I asked him not too long ago why he though he was so wonderful & he said it was because of all of the business he brought to the area, namely Echostar & went on & on about Echostar & how awesome he was for it. Apparently he throws that in a lot of people's faces. I wonder how he feels about it now.

My guess is that the underlying reason Echostar is closing, is that turnover is high, and that not a lot of people from this town (and that area) want to work. Some people are happier getting that Access card reloaded and waiting on the Renta Center truck to deliver that 50 inch plasma.

I agree with Eddie. There's very little motivation for people to show up to work at Echostar when they can get paid to sit in their section 8 housing getting high all day.

All we hear about every day is how there are no jobs and how bad it is in McKeesport, yet Echostar couldn't ever get a decent pool of workers in McKeesport after all these years. Absolutely pathetic! Thank your Democrat politicians/ welfare pushers for the ongoing decline in this country.

Unfortunately I'm one of those workers in the callcenter that is closing here in McKeesport. Everyone seemed to know last year, when the 10 year lease was up and we signed a 1 year lease instead, that this was going to happen.
A lot of people here are going to lose needed jobs, and it definately isn't going to bode well at all for anyone.
All we can do is hope that 4 months is long enough to find other jobs.

We certainly hope and pray that move close by so those who wish can commute and not lose their job.

This should not be an issue. If each of the other 150 businesses the administration brought to the City would hire 4 persons, no one would be unemployed.

Interesting! Should we assume that your source of information is impeccable? With all respect to your inside source, I question if this brinkmanship strategy happened.

JB is too smart and proud to let this slip through his grasp. This is a major setback for the workers and City.

Would it not be in the best interest of the City to have council participate in this failed bluff, if it truly happened as you stated?

I guess the public will never know if council/JB had a covert meeting which should have been open to the public due to the Sunshine Act.

Be fair to JB and let us wait for his side of the story.

A company called PPM just came into a lot of money so they may be able to hire some of those affected.

I can not believe what I am reading here. How can you talk smack on the people because this huge company is closing it's doors? These people that work @ Echo Star should be commended for working for this company. Now they are going to be out of work because this multi million dollar company has made enough off of the people here! There are so many wondering how they are going to keep a roof over their families heads, food on the table, plus pay the bills. Have you people no heart? These are our neighbors, brothers, sisters, children & friends. So how can you be so quick to put them down when they are the ones suffering the consequences of working here. You say no one here wants to work. Where did these 600+ people that will be unemployed come March 5th come from? It is easy to talk about people when you are sitting pretty with a good job and nice paycheck coming in to your home. These people sat at a cubicle and took phone calls all day. That my friend is not an easy task as you make it out to be. My heart goes out to these people that have families to support. I commend you all that worked for Echo Star in McKeesport. From what I understand it was not an easy company to work for. I will keep these people in my prayers and hope that humanity sets in and people start helping thy neighbor! Who knows one day it may be you walking in those shoes!! I know if it were me I would hope I could count on my family, friends and neighbors for a little support. GOD doesn't judge and neither should we! Help your fellow man! Don't ridicule him for loosing his job due to the company closing it's doors! This is a tough time and we all need to stick together!

Crime rate is highest in all Allegheny for Mckeesport. Mckeesport is in the media every day because people like me know whom to speak to and are listened to accurately.

Your welcome

When young children achieve higher than 10th grade equivelency ratings of acedemic achievement from people like me teaching them means I must know something right and never stand for mean people to others. I do not check income either, wealthy or those in higher pay brackets may get there by robbing, cheating and accepting government money for programs to support the same. Crime is the highest in Mckeesport by results, and does not support honesty of its people and those from other places such as the harassment the new owners of Spanish origin receive at Kennywood by example.

U.S. newspapers continue to see circulation plummet

Trib Total Media acquired the McKeesport Daily News in the time since last circulation numbers were recorded.

Whom wants to report favorably about Mckeesport when the facts support otherwise exhibited further by people supporting violence and harassers as the friends of the same, people in videos that threaten death and run into sreets yeling at others getting supported by Mckeesport politicians?

Why would they want to run businesses in a city that supports such people exhibiting such illegal behavior?

Those people are paying for your representative friends that get away with threatening death to people. This city lets such crimes go, and calls victims harassers without any evidence.

I merely post the links and know the facts by worthy resources which I post and none that falsely accuse my do, but rather accuse without evidence which is actually hear say, without proof.

They do the same to me, and I called their words to attorneys attention and have evidence this city commits to illegal actions. I do not make threats to harm people nor run out in city streets as people they are friends with, but I did verify by more than one attorney that the evidence stands against them should I decide to go to court on fact proven issues.

Two attorneys were very eager to take cases against Mckeesport in Pittsburgh. One attorney called Mckeesport officials mindless, without a brain. Another attorney said when am I ready to sue them. Another stated maybe they will get tired of facing the same snake over and over again. LOL

I am not lying either, as all other proof of issues and cases no one else provided with accurate links with fact finding basis. I am going to get the case against Mckeesport dealing with the sidewalk next, they love being sued apparently.

What street did you live on again? you could tell them all and they wont appear because they know you will stand up to them.
