American workers need to earn more than foreign workers to be able to live here. Americans also want to live beyond their means, thus increasing salary demands. In order to buy more goodies, toys, and trinkets, prices on manufactured goods such as furniture need to be lower--which can only happen if made by workers who don't demand as much pay. That is why almost all manufactured goods are made in other countries; the more economically disadvantaged the better. |
