I agree 100% with Snapper. It was an incredible day, including the Motorcycle ride beforehand, which we were honored to be a part of. The only dissapointment of the day was that the general public didnt show up to honor these families. Wether you agree with the war or not, it is our duty to support these families and the sacrifices they make for all of us. Too bad they missed out on an opportunity to show thier appreciation and one heck of a great day!
Unfortunately, the general public will NEVER be able to relate to those families of Servicemembers. Everybody is more worried about whales in a river than showing support to those families. That is what makes you a unique person.
I feel one reason for the lack of support by the general population is the myths that surround the military. I am still amazed of what little people truely know about those who wear the uniform. They will definitely be informed of any shortfalls and scandels by our dimly lit Mass Media. How many stories do you see anymore of any heroics and positive stories of our military? Of course, that was so 2003.
I am just happy to see such a great event! I look forward to next year.
