Fake Religious Group May Be Behind North Versailles Burglary

Not a good time to be a JW right about now, especially one who's a member of those congregations.
But I knew that the perps had to imposters. I know long-time Jws, and they aren't the kind of people who do this sort of thing.

Probably.

There have been burglaries of people's homes from burglars posing anywhere from Avon saleswomen to water meter readers.

Daylight burglars are bolder but no less able to take every advantage than their night time creeping cousins.

It's a shame that people are feeling they have to feel safe locked behind closed doors than the criminals locked in jail. I believe parole are being offered too cheaply to criminals that have become worse due to their jail time rather than rehabilitated.

It is a common scam to pose as salespeople or evangelists to scope out houses and break in. It's a shame, but demonstrates that this form of evangelization is an issue-people are afraid to answer. The other day, right as it was turning dark, two carpet cleaner salesmen(?) came to my door, very insistent that I use their product. In spite of the fact that I was moved out and hiring professionals to do the whole house, they tried to barge in. I doubt they were just salespeople and they freaked me out entirely. My realtor told me that the carpet cleaner they were literally shoving in my face was a store brand(not even a BRAND name!).

Anyway, there was nothing there for them to steal, so not an issue. But I distrust anyone over the age of nine that comes to my door until proven otherwise.
