ok to keep it real. 1st of rip birdman even though he was a cocky idiot that was not even smart enough to be looking over his shoulder hanging around in mckeesport(you have to be paranoid in this city and expect the worst at all times unless your an idiot like birdman). 2nd off this was a broad daylight shooting. where were the police!?!? 3rd everyone knows there is so much crime in mckeesport. why not step up the foot patrols and mobile patrols? another young persons life lost because of not enough policing in the community.

i am expecting responses oh like he was not an angel and the city does not have enough tax money this and that bs.

how about hiring more officers for the citys foot patrols instead of officials driving in a 70 thousand dollar chevy tahoe ltz with a blue municipal tag. what is that about 2 officers pay each year?

McKeesport police don't come through the lower wards unless they're backing up a utility company rep who wants to personally collect money for a bill that was delivered last week. That's what's going on with what's left of the whitey population living down here in the lower wards. City hall is pulling out all the fire hydrants and telling the utilities to turn off the services first chance they get. What's left is the scum and well, they'll all shoot themselves eventually anyway. Problem solved.

I work in PA not in Pitts, and this young mans brother is part of a program I am working at. I think it is obserd that you or anyone else would even comment in such a manner. Black , White, Rican, Grenn, Purple.... It is a young HUMAN life that was taken and lost. God has made us different colors, howver look at the scientific reasons!!!! wow wake the hell up people this is 2009 almost 2010 and no matter the color of our skin we all bleed the same color RED.......... (I read personally two cases against Mckeesport, and I am telling you many will know how to go about them by utilizing the others as highly useful templates). You thought no other cases were ongoing? You think no more cases are to follow? As soon as they make false claims against people, those people like Paul Shelly can sue and that is regardless of public or city officials opinion with wrong "EXCUSES," the excuse city remember, of nonsense saying why they cannot.

Mckeesport is broke because of the errors and mistakes they have made, they are "cash strapped" like any other, now its fifty fifty. Side with a friend, a person yelling profanities and slander in a neighborhood, which neighborhood is it? Also, threatening death by preponderance of the evidence, or not look at it to save her?
Do the complaints reach to Supreme Courts in the end? If a search warrant takes evidence and its all over, then Mckeesport may be in a lot of trouble with the courts of illegal search and seizures with other reasons of retaliatory design to get such, but doesn't the court records, among many of the legal system have such on the record? There is more than people know in Mckeesport, and illegal actions to piggyback faint opinions and beliefs of wrong to get search warrants as your screaming friend stated is next will be at issue in the courts. The evidence is somewhere else, and is solid.
Didn't Mckeesport lose $50,000 for illegal busting in a house, the same can be done of retaliatory reasons proven and favoritism can arise as issue.

this is not about color! this is not the 1960s! forget about color because that is of the past. we need more industry in mckeesport for more people to be productive. we need public officials people can look up to. we need a leader that will try to help this area the best a person possibly can. the troubled youth in this area need positive role models!

I was NOT making a racist comment. It's horrible what happened to this man and his family. My point is, the police don't deal with actual crime in the lower wards because they're too busy following city hall's orders to run out the rest of the residents -- by any means they can. It's apparent city hall wouldn't mind if they can cordon off the lower wards and call it a war zone. Would the rest of the city residents care? I don't think so.

While most of the municipalities -- McKeesport an exception -- reported that they did not have to cut personnel or services, some reported that projects had to be deferred.

The City of McKeesport decided to lay off nine employees to balance its budget and will be cutting back in other areas.

"We're being as frugal and as diligent as we can be," said South Park Manager Karen Fosbaugh. "We recognize we're spending the public's money and we're being very careful with it."

With people's finances so uncertain, officials in many municipalities were hesitant to raise taxes.

McKeesport
The city passed a 2009 budget of $20.3 million with no tax change, keeping its tax rate at 4.26 mills for buildings and 16.5 mills for land.

To balance its budget, the city laid off nine employees, including Mayor Jim Brewster's secretary. Also laid off were two administrative employees, three clerical employees and four in public works.

Troubled towns seem to rely on crime. It's how they get more Gov't money. All the tax payers love to here about another death in the getto. One less person from the getto is money diverted to another program. People get what they deserve in the long run.

personally i do not know the kid, but i knew who he was. secondly, im not saying what happened to him was right, but he must of done something to someone to get shot in the head in broad daylight. anyways, the assailant fled on foot is what everyone is saying, and if he could get away, the police must be doing something wrong or they just do not care anymore. another problem is the community. everyone is scared to call the police when stuff like this happens. what happened to neighbors watching over neighbors and keeping an eye on their neighborhood to prevent criminal activity. best believe if i see someone snooping around my neighbors house or looks like they're up to no good, im going to say or do something about it. everyone needs to pitch in and stop being little pu$$i3s. protect one another in your community or neighborhood because if something happens to you or your house, belongings, etc., you'd like it for someone to step up and say what they saw. thats what neighbors are for. dont make enemies where you live, make more friends who would have your back when stuff like this happens and thats the truth
