This place is HORRIBLE. Checked the site to see what the wait time would be. It said NONE..........got there withing 10 minutes and ended up waiting 3.5 hours and only seen the person who checks vitals and askes what is wrong. Got bs lines that they had several emergency come in and it just got real busy right before we arrived. MORE BS!!!!!!!!!! We gave the arm band back and left and will NEVER RETURN TO THAT PLACE AGAIN!!!!!! IF they try to bill.........LOL..........I guess I will get a lawyer cause no paperwork was signed!!!!!!!!!!

If you were able to walk into a evel 1 trauma center, wait that long, reads like you were abusing the emergenvy system. Why not use one of the many urgent care places, everyone offers one. And as a team member at JCMC, the levek 1 trauma center sees many each day, REAL emergencies where people's lives are in the balance. Shame on you for taking up an exam room as again, you don't sound like an emergency reading your notes. Next time try urgent care. Costs lless too. Then if you are ever a trauma case and I hope you are not in the position, those incredible folks will save your life. As for your latest visit to our level 1 trauma center with your nonemergent issue, shame on you.

I think your point got across the first time you said "level 1 trauma center".. No need to repeat yourself.. Level 1 trauma center my ass.. The hospital is as described by the poster.. A JOKE! And 90% of the people that go there are a joke.

Took a family member there back last winter, who was very ill and needing surgery immediately. There was a long wait in ER, although he had been sent to ER by Urgent Care. They were astounded when a cart came by, asking for his co-payment up front, even before he was admitted and had the surgery. That did not come across in a positive way to a family that pays their bills, believe me!

Not perfect folks but still an amazing place with your neighbors giving their best care. Im sure wherever you work is incredible and those deadbeats wildmantn mentions? Thank goodness someone is there for them. JCMC sees a lot of tenncare, uninsured (and not al those are deadbeats) and underinsured. Again, if you can walk into the ED, you probably need not be at a level 1 trauma center in JC or Kpt. Leave that for those who realy need it. Thank you

Leaving a hospital because of wait time is never a good idea. If you have the same problem again, it is entirely possible that the insurance you pay for will not cover. If you made it as far at triage, then there is a record of your visit and probably a charge too. The insurance that you pay for will not work in your favor regarding this incident.

Best get that lawyer now.

A few years ago I took my mother to JCMC by ambulance after finding her very ill and incoherent. It turns out she had a raging kidney infection. After being examined by a doctor when we arrived she laid on a gurney outside of the treatment area for seven hours (I'm not exaggerating) while sepsis spread through her body. I asked them several times when they could take her in and each time was told someone will come shortly. By the time they got her in and hooked up to the machines her blood pressure was 70/50, she had a heart rate in the 140's and a fever of 104. She barely survived them. Another joke is Quillen Rehab. After my mother's discharge from JCMC she was sent there for physical therapy to help her cope with her MS. I went to visit her one day and she was on a stationary bicycle in the therapy room and in obvious pain. I noticed her abdomen was swollen and the therapist was telling her to pedal faster. The MS had caused her bladder to lock up and she was retaining urine and the bastards had her on that bicycle in that condition. After arguing with the idiot therapist (some Indian named Kumar) they took her back to JCMC to treat her for her bladder.

I refuse to go there unless I'm on my death bed & I have to go there. My experience with them is unfriendly staff & they just don't care. It mostly comes from the fact that their bosses don't care & that the CEO cuts their pay. I went there once with my friend & we actually didn't have to wait as long as I normally had in the past but was there a couple of hours

I usually go to the only hospital in the area that isn't a joke & that's Erwin's hospital. Hopefully it won't close because they can't manage money
