Oldest house may be on Va. Ave where John Eddy Philpot lived, the 2nd oldest is definitely the house next door where the Andersons live

our house was built in 1920. but i dout it is the oldest.

The oldest home used to be the old Ed.O Asher home which was torn down to build the mini park back in the 70s. Not sure who the original owner was. Maybe J.J. Gibson, who was one of the earliest landowners around Pineville. It predated the civil war.
Don't know now, but its bound to be a house built before 1900. 1920 isnt close. Lots of houses were built way before that.

Could it be the big brick beside the old health dept. building? By the Way, what are hey doing with that building? They have been working there for a few weeks...new roof..working inside,,bought the old yellow house next door

Isaac Shelby was the first governor of Kentucky.

Bot sure he had anything to do with the founding of Pineville, which at that time was known as Cumberland Ford.

I loved the Pineville Hotel. I went to the beauty
shop that was there in 1960. I also remember Joe The Taylor shop. I thought back then it was really up town.Miss those days in Pineville.

A Doc Foley was the original owner of the house with the lions. He was one of the original doctors in Pineville. Had a brother that was a doctor in Knox
co.KY.
