Chad,
Welcome, I think you are doing an awesome job. I hope you like it here in the greater Lafayette area. I just watched your forcast and you were talking about rain on sunday..... Do you know what "sunday" is ??? It's the day of the greatest auto race in the world !!! The Indianapolis 500. A good weather man would be letting us know about the "window" or if they will get the race in.... This race is a big deal to people here. Get excited and if you aren't a race fan.... might be a good idea to become one. God Bless, Fred Fields |

He has some huge shoe to fill. Mike Prangley was very fun to watch on TV, probably the only reason I turned on WLFI in the evenings

1 As am I. Just give me the forecast for the next day or so. I don't need to know what the weather has been in the past or why. Just need to know how to dress myself and the kids and whether to make outdoor plans. If I wanted all the technical stuff I would have become a meteorologist. |

Keep up the good work, Chad. I enjoy you.

Welcome Chad! I know it must have been a rough couple of weeks on you, Getting moved in to your new home, learning the Laf. area, and working at a new station with all the ins and outs.
You are doing an awsome job! |

I was wondering what was going on with the weather , either Tuesday or Wednesday night. It got real orange outside, and looked like the sun was setting in the south?

I'll bet Chad is glad to be in Layfayette! Working with Kevin Orpurt would be enough to drive a man to drink! I get sick of weather people acting like they have anything to do with what the weather is going to be. Kevin Orpurt couldn't like out the window and tell you what the weather is and he over dramatizes every storm that pops up...except the ones he had no clue was coming...even with all of his up to the date weather equipment. I'll be he's not 20% accurate over a year's time period. Give me Jesse Walker any day of the week!!!

Actually, there was a professional research project a few years ago that sought to measure the accuracy of weather forecasting in the Midwest. Several Indiana stations were monitored and evaluated, including WTWO, WFXW and WTHI.
Believe it or not, the weather forecasting of all three stations was found to be "substantially accurate" more than 80% of the time. Locally, WTHI actually edged out WTWO (84.33% to 81.29%). WXFW, whose weather forecasts are provided by WTWO staff, scored a very similar 80.87%. So, the accuracy level of both stations is well above the 20% an earlier poster mentioned. |

how many people get to keep their jobs when they are wrong 70% of the time?
|
||||
Umm, according to the research someone pointed out, they are all wrong less than 20% of the time. That doesn't sound too bad at all given the fact they have absolutely no control of the eventual outcome. I'd take employees like that all day long. Anymore, you're lucky to get people to even show up for work, let alone do anything correctly. |
