i think it's bullshit to fuel rumor mill. i know a few different people working the Knights grounds all weekend (who are quick to report juicy details mind you), not one of them mentioned anything about shots fired. probably one of the carnies had a blowout on their trailer tires.

I was on the bridge of the St. Ferdinand Shrine when all hell broke loose. Even the little golf cart with the lights on it took off up Rue St. Francois. I asked the cop guarding the bridge what was going on and his reply was, "Kids will be kids." The Canine car came in and talked to another officer who gave the description of the person of interest. And the Canine cop said, "It's time to walk the dog." He got the dog out, leashed him and took off across the grassy parking lot.

The fact is, the Florissant Polie did arrest the kid, and did find the gun. The sad fact is, the liberals courts will probable slap his hand and release him.

Why do they keep having that festival if it attracts thugs? Do they wait until somebody gets killed with a handgun to finally say enough is enough and end it? How do the business people feel about losing money because of the undesirables that end up in front of their places of business? The media recently said some where pretty upset over this crap. Dont the taxpayers foot the bill to have the police and other city workers do the heavy lifting? Just because its supposedly a tradition dont make it worth all the money that it takes to keep it goin in these hard economic times.

Sad to hear that something I have fond memories of as a kid has turned into such a debacle.

There was a Murder at the Kentucky Derby last weekend, should we cancel the Kentucky Derby? If we run and hide from a hand full of azzzwipes, we surrender. Fight back, and don't give in. When Adam jilted Eve, we should have canceled mankind. Read a paper, listen to the news, we are all part of the picture, you can run, but you can't hide. Fight Back.

This community is still filled with mostly all good people. Do not be mislead by this blog, as there are some hateful and hate spreading people who insist on tearing down the community. They, the haters, are much more the problem than not. There are challenges and people problem everywhere, no one is exempt, it is how we all deal with them and how communities react. Don't believe the venom on this blog.

Big difference between Louisville having a Derby and Florissant having a Valley of Flowers. How do you propose that you fight back? With hundreds of cops on every corner and in front of every business? Good luck with that one. I doubt that you have that many officers to go around. When your city runs short of money and they have to make cuts, wouldn't logic dictate that a resource draining pain in the ass festival with guns and thugs ruining it for everybody else be one of the first things on the chopping block? Just curious, what element of people are bringing the guns in there and making the festival such a success? Are they locals or outsiders? Dredlock wearing crack whores or church going north countians? Something tells me that the church goers aren't the source of your problem out there.

So, what utopia do you live in? you have no crime? you have no one comeing in to disrupt your peace and quiet? Are do you just find it easier to select someone elses home and call it bad? You are more the problem than the solution. Sweep in front of your own front door, we will mind our home here.

What a pity. You can't even answer the poster's question. Instead of being a defensive cry baby, why don't you list solutions to the problem or provide some answers. Just man up and admit that there is a problem. Then get some therapy for your myopic views on racial harmony.
