banned from walmart

my sister n law was caught for shoplifting in walmart at prestonsburg and they didnt take her to jail but they took her pic and she said they made her sign something. she doesnt have to go to court or anything but they told her she was banned from walmart. does this mean all walmarts or just prestonsburg? thanks im just curious. could she go into the walmart in pikeville without being caught or do they have face recognition cameras? has anyone else been through this?

She hasn't been caught shoplifting at the Pikeville WalMart yet?

I dont know everett, was it just the one wal's worth or all of them?

Typically, those papers (called "trespass papers") apply to ALL Wal-Marts. While they don't have facial recognition cameras, the loss prevention teams among the stores share the info with their counterparts in other Wal-Marts locally. This is pretty common among the chain stores. If they catch her back on the property, they don't even have to catch her doing anything wrong, they can just call the police without approaching her and show the papers and have her arrested for criminal trespass. If she is caught actually shoplifting in another Wal-Mart store, they can charge her for the theft AND criminal trespass.

i too knew someone in this situation and it includes all wal marts. your friend should have thought a little longer before stealing.

so if she was to go in the pikeville walmart or the one in williamson no one would recognize her. hopefully not because she intentionally didnt steal anything the stupid register girl forgot to get her pop under the buggy and they condidered it shoplifting. so without facial recognition cameras she should b ok right as long as she is not ACCUSED of shoplifting...but like u said she needs to stay outta that place because its so nasty in pikeville.. ive been to alot of walmarts and this one caps it. they never have nothing that u need and always have someone walking around shopping starring at u. the so called shoppers. i really cant stand that guy they have there that walks around acting like hes shopping but every corner u turn hes right there got his eyes popped open on the phone...DUHH dead give away..if walmart is gonna hire SO CALLED SHOPPERS they need to find some with a little sense.

That is the usual defense after being caught stealing. I reckon it is better for you to beat them down then to admit you have a problem. I hate to break it to you but even the finest Stores in this Country will prosecute you for stealing.

I didnt know the wal mart checkout ppl pulled item from the buggies to scan. I always had to place my items on the counter to be scanned.

NO. Re-read what I typed. If she is recognized (they rotate between stores sometimes to try and keep from being recognized, or have what they call "blitzes" where they bring in people from several stores over a day or two), THEY CAN CALL THE POLICE EVEN IF SHE IS DOING NOTHING WRONG, because she has been "trespassed" (banned) from Wal-Mart stores.

And I have a hard time believeing the story about the pop (sorry, just being truthful), because it is such a low dollar value item, and usually, the cashier would be the one who gets in trouble in a circumstance like that. In order for them to have had enough to bring her back to the office (detain her), they have to follow specific steps/guidelines to protect themselves if it went to court, from lawsuits. It may be the story your sister told you, but since I've been doing it over 15 years, I can promise you, she is leaving something out. The fact that she signed the trespass papers (which are voluntary, by the way,and say so right on the form, they can't MAKE you sign them) tells me that she was given a break because it was fairly low dollar and/or she was cooperative (admitted to them what she did, etc) and they just didn't feel it was worth the time to prosecute her.

Not judging at all, I've seen every type/reason for a theft that you can think of, and I'm just saying there is always more to the story, and unless you were actually with her when it happened, you most likely aren't getting the whole story from her due to embarrassment on her part.

No, I understand this woman has to do her job. I don't steal, never have. I think thieves are awful. But, this "shopper" really does smell like tuna! I don't have my nose in her ass either, whatever. She SMELLS LIKE FISH! HER ASS STINKS FROM A DISTANCE. She may have a vaginal infection.. who knows, but whatever it is.. it's bad.

She is about 50ish, wears denim always, carries a small purse on her shoulder, I think she might wear glasses too. She has not been in there working in awhile. I don't know where she went. She may have gotten really ill from the vaginal infection. It must be rotting by now. This woman use to be a CSM and worked up front.
