I had the same concerns with my daughter being 13, but after taking my daughter there and hiding and watching the club they have plenty of staff and are always walking around outside making sure no one has snuck out and are up to no good. And once you exit you are not allowed back inside. After watching and seeing how much they are dedicated to making sure everyone is safe I no longer have these concerns. And at the end of the night they are out in the parking lot with the kids making sure there is no one outside messing with them as they wait for their parents to pick them up. I think this club is good for the kids and is totally safe.

"parent" is speaking as though she might have a financial stake in "hyped"?

I have no financial stake in HYPED....I was just giving some insight to what I observed when I took my daughter there. Just because someone actually has positive remarks about something does not mean they are gaining financially from it. GET A LIFE......Liz what I said is the truth, I am not associated with the club in any way except I took my daughter and her friend there and sat and watched and saw the staff outside several times throughout the night and the kids are not allowed out, if they leave they cannot go back inside.

I agree with 'parent'. I took my 14 year old daughter there a few weeks ago, I was sitting in my car waiting on her and her friend to come out, when they did the staff asked them if their parents were there before they let them get to far.

I'm just saying, but the Y dances they used to have in Waverly, I used to go to those dances when i was a teen, and at first they were safe and all of us were watched while there. But after a while, drugs were being brought in there, kids would drink alcohol before going in, kids would make-out in the halls in front of everyone and get a little closer than they should, hell I even heard of kids having sex at the Y dances, and kids would leave the dance early and go do who knows what the hell, and when it was over, they would come back and sit out front to be picked up. It got really bad. So if this new "Hyped" place is as safe as you say it is, please try to keep it that way. It's nice teens finally have something to do around here.

As the owner, I would like all parents to feel ok about allowing their teens to come to Hyped. We have a 14 year old son, and it was apparent that there was really nothing for teens to do on the weekends. During the planning phase, much thought was involved surrounding safety issues. We are not naive as to what some teenagers are involved in. We have strict rules, such as no outside drinks(to prevent the possibility of alcohol), you are not allowed to leave and re-enter without paying again(this is a deterrent for teens to go to cars, etc...), all purses and bags are checked on entry, and teens are checked via metal detector on entry to prevent the possibility of pocket knifes etc...We have 5- 6 adults present during business hours. I think we have gone above and beyond to make this a safe atmosphere. As the parent of a teen, I wanted to run a club that I would feel safe allowing him to attend. With that being said, parents should talk with their teens about what is expected of them before they attend the club, such as dancing, meeting boyfriends/girlfriends etc....

Ages for Hyped are 13-17, we do not card teenagers, as most do not have an ID at this age. I myself was surprised at how old and young some of the teens look. We ask on the door if someone looks either too old or too young, other teens will usually alert us when someone is either too young or too old, we also ask parents when they are available. I think you would be very surprised that most of these teens are in the 13,14,15 year old range.

I am proud to say that Hyped has an awesome group of teens they have all gotten along without issue. We have some special needs teens that attend on a regular basis, I am in awe at how they are treated by others at the club, even being voted the best dancer by the other teens!!!!!!

Teens get a very bad rap, but I can tell you that there are alot of parents in this community that are doing a great job, and alot of teens that are awesome. Thank you, I hope this answered some of your questions.
appreciated
