What is going on here with our girls highschool programs? The basketball program is in complete meltdown. The head coach has never played a competive sport in his life and has no clue on how to coach. He has no concept of team and is continuing to lose players. Wonder how many quit at the end of this season. Please somebody do something before our gyms are empty. Maybe he should go to a boys game and watch how a real coach coaches.

I suppose this is the Norfolk high program you are talking about. You are absolutely right about meltdown. There needs to be a coaching change made now and its not because they lose every game its because he and his assistant are ruining some young girls lives by treating them like they do. If we had an AD who cared about things something would have already been done but dont count on that happening.

several years back the programs were top notch. The coaches cared about the girls - built teams - and played competitive. Over the past few years a few of the programs have went down hill because the coachs dont care. They want some extra money so they coach and who suffers? The girls

I hope somebody does something before Mrsny runs off more good athletes!!!!!!!!! The girls are getting discourged. He had his chance to be a coach and it looks like he would rather be their buddy and play favorites. Give it up Mrnsy!!!!!

Coach Mrsny and Hughes need to look at what they turned a the class A team into. Short on upperclassmen staying out for basketball. Pretty soon they'll have all freshmen playing varsity. Someone needs to send him back to the junior high where he belongs. Its a sad situation they got them in!! I'm glad I don't have a kid on the girls team.

Do you think its the pay is too low to get a good coach in her for the girls volleyball or the girls basketball? I heard the two coaches were coach by default. Look at Pierce - Norfolk Catholic. Why cant we get a decent coach. Fisher and Myrsny need to go and go now. I heard there is some concern with the soccer coach for the girls as well, but I dont know much about that program. Still the common thread here is girls programs????

ITS VERY SAD TO SEE! SOMETHING ISN'T RIGHT ITS LIKE MRSNY READ THE FIRST CHAPTER ON "HOW TO COACH" AND NEVER FINSHED THE BOOK. PLEASE CHANGE THE COACHING SO THE GIRLS CAN PLAY BASKETBALL IN HIGH SCHOOL. I FELL SORRY FOR THE GIRLS ON THE TEAM AND THE GIRLS THAT WOULD LIKE TO BE ON THE TEAM.

It's time someone steps in. The paper says moral win over South Sioux, it's still not a win. Three of their best players were'nt playing. They got beat by 20pts by a class B Team with three of their players gone. If that makes him feel good thats so sad. The girls don't need to suffer from poor coaching.

For some time I thought it was just me thinking this way, but I cant take it anymore. The two coaches couldnt coach 5th grade team. They are lying to the girls, pitting them against each other and then putting all the blame on them for the losses. Coaches and I use the term loosly - step down and let us salvage our girls program.

I've been to a few of the girls games and the coaches are doing everything to their ability. The only problem is they have no ability! They need to rid the girls of this nonsense they call coaching. Let them be free from the roller coaster of confusion.

Well said ex coach. I think a majority of the blame also needs to be put on the AD. He could do something about this but chooses not too.

sounds like a few parents and fans need to get a Guide on the Game... mistakes I've seen weren't coaching ones...bad passes etc......don't overestimate talent..get a reality check..enjoy the game..and remember to read the banner on the wall at NHS...

I agree with you lover of all sports - but after hours upon hours of practice how can this happen, could it be the talent has given up and has no motivation? And there is talent on the team it just needs direction and discipline.I dont have a child on the team I just hate to see the program dwindle away. I think the same was said about the Huskers and look what leadership can do:) As for the banner on the wall at NHS - well this is a web topix not the highschool. Maybe you should go to more than one game before you comment, oh and can you tell me where to get the latest copy of a guide on the game

I think the coaches are doing everything in their power to make this team be successful. Maybe some things are not the way most would perform them, but all in all... the players on the court need to want to play for themselves and for the love of the game... not just for the coaches or their parents. Coaches can only do so much and give you so much knowledge about the game. It's how the player applies that knowledge to game situations. The coaches aren't the ones out on the court making the bad passes and missing the shots. If all of you have so much to say about this topic, why don't you step in and try to make high school, teenage girls listen to every word you say??

its not the coaches fault. they can teach you the plays, but they can't run them for you in a game. Crappy passes, horrible shooting, and giving up has led to your disasterous season. Quit giving Mrsny and Hughes the blame, because the girls need to step it up a notch and realize that playing class A basketball is different than playing freshman teams (thats refering to you sophomores) . Don't expect to be successful just because you were a year ago. Shame on you varsity girls basketball players, especially the two faced backstabbers wanting coaches to get fired. Your jersey is not a right, its a privilege.
