just heard rumor that the mexican restaurant will be closing its doors on 10-25-08 due to building owner raising rent.. hopefully this is just a rumor. i can't believe this owner would run a booming business in piedmont out of town..you would think any money a business could bring to piedmont would be welcome... i am outraged at hearing this but considering whos raising the rent it doesn't suprise me one bit since it is all about having total control over the county.. will post more when i find out if this rumor is true..

If it is true, then the whole town needs to boycott anything owned or run by the "Control Freak". We can take our business somewhere else...

amen.. finally get a great place to eat at, then the control freak has to run them outta town.. the new italian restaurant opening soon,, all i have to say about that is hope ya'll own your own building or stash some money back because as soon as he sees you are doing a decent business LOOK OUT cause he will be raising the rent!!!!

I hope it's not true.
Who's the owner? |
||||
|
Ronnie Ross.

i just heard from a VERY CLOSE source that it was due to the 60% owner at the bluff, Francisco, everyone is urged to call there and tell him you want the restaurant to stay open. Its the las margaritas at the bluff. They say he says hes not making enough money or something, if you call there like i did ,he says "oh no, restaurant not closing" but everyone call please, cause the people at Piedmont say that it is!

Ronnie Ross doesnt seem to have a good rep. with sharing the wealth here. but I dont suppose it matters when you own over half the town so I hear, but then hey who needs friends when u have money

All I know is that when town flooded and everyone lost all their stuff in his storage sheds, do you think he cared. Not one bit. Still charged the monthly rate and late fees even with people having to toss out all their stuff. You can bet he made out on that deal though. Bet he was insured to the hilt but didn't bother to help those less fortunate by giving them a break until they could get their stuff cleaned out of storage (most of which was ruined).

I didnt say I liked the guy. He's a money hungry old man with nothing better to than make sure he stays rich and let everyone know it. I just know he's not responsable for the closing of the mexican restaurant

We ate there Saturday and talked to the manager. he said the 60% owner from PB was the one wanting to close. We offered to buy him out, but we were told that the guy had raised the amount he wanted to be very unrealistic. The workers were even wanting to try to buy him out. I mean, you would think somebody would take $40,000 (what were were first told) before just closing and getting nothing. But he had decided it would take $100,000. Guess nothing is better than something! What a shame. The workers have leases on their houses and now are having to try to find new jobs &/or relocate. Seems everytime we get something decent, someone gets greedy and leaves us with nothing.

Has anyone heard anything else? I'm hearing now that Las Margaritas is actually back open as of today (Tuesday.) Apparently they worked everything out?
Makes me wonder if this whole thing wasn't some sort of bluff. |

I feel sorry for all you poor people out there. seems you can't stand the fact that rr has some money and aint sharin it w/u.
i say more power to the man who made it on his own and dont have to answer to any of you clowns. If you all would stop complainin long enough, well, you might be able to make some of your own. the closing of las margaritas had nothing to do with him yet you all were so quick to jump on his back. funny how the other posts i read talked about this bein a caring community B@!!$H!++ |

Las Margaritas is still open. Ross changed his mind about raising the rent. There were lots of people there last night. Good to see it still open.
|

but ronnie ross will do that if he thinks a business is doing good he will raise the rent, thats not hear say thats a fact...i had a friend that rented a building from him and ronnie pretty much doubled his rent because his business was doing so well.
|

|
I was told that Ross still raised the rent, and the owner was afraid they couldnt make it, but now they are doing such booming business from the fear it will be closed that they are going to stay open. Dont know for sure though

Ross had nothing to do with it. For the last time it was the owners brother. Get your fact straight people
