The spiritual blessing that comes from trusting in the Lord is likened to a tree that is growing by the continual flow of a river. "For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters." The riverside is the ideal location for developing a flourishing tree. Trusting in the Lord is the only setting in which a flourishing spiritual life can be developed. A tree that is located by the river sends out its roots to take in more and more life-giving water: "which spreads out its roots by the river." Even if all others are drying up around them, they are goinfg to flowish they will be the deepest green and will bear fruit when all others fail. When the heat of drought comes, it is a dreadful threat to plant-life (unless the plant is located beside a sufficient river). When the heat of battle or impossible circumstances arise, they can pose a fearful threat. Even a child of God is tempted to be anxious. However, if the Lord is our hope, we "will not fear when heat comes ... and will not be anxious in the year of drought." Instead, we will continue in growth and spiritual fruitfulness. "Her leaf will be green, and will not ... cease from yielding fruit." What radically different results come from trusting in God (instead of hoping in man). We receive spiritual blessing (instead of a cursing). Our spiritual life is like a luxuriant tree beside a river (instead of like a shrub in the desert). We experience the resources of God (instead of the resources of man). Dear God, I thank You for the abundant grace that flows from You into my heart every time I trust in You. It is blessing beyond measure. Nothing else could ever keep me from fear and anxiety. Nothing less could ever bring growth and fruitfulness in the midst of threatening circumstances. You are my hope day by day, Amen.

Devotion for September 20th 2009 SO far in our daily meditations on growing in our walk with God, we have examined many areas of biblical truth: If we desire to live by God's grace, we must be willing to renounce pride and to walk in humility. This is the hardest one as we are all individuals with personalities adn expectations that differ from those around us that we interact with daily. "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble." The Lord is opposed to the path of self-sufficiency. When we,in pride, assume that we can produce the kind of life God calls us to live, spiritual growth is prevented. Humility involves agreeing with God's revelations concerning our inadequacies. "Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves" (2Co_3:5). The person who is willing to walk humbly before the Lord has an deep understanding of our need and desire for the Lord to work in and THROUGH our lives. "Without Me you can do nothing" (Joh_15:5). Along with humility regarding ourselves, God wants us to walk in faith regarding Him. The Lord wants to work in our lives by His unearned grace. Faith activates G-d and His grace: "through whom [Jesus] also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand." The Lord is pleased by the path of "Christ-dependency." Whenever we face any issue of life by faith in Jesus Christ, we are drawing upon the abounding grace of the Lord. When we dependently accept that God can produce the kind of life He calls us to live, spiritual growth is assured. Faith involves agreeing with God's pronouncements concerning Him being our adequacy: "but our sufficiency is from God" (2Co_3:5). The person who is willing to walk in faith toward the Lord has an accurate understanding of His comprehensive ability to work in and through our lives. "He who abides in Me ... bears much fruit" (Joh_15:5). Also, as noted earlier, humility and faith are related realities. Neither can be produced by us. They are not the result of human labor. They can only develop as an ongoing reality through a growing relationship with our Lord Jesus. Pray this prayer: Dear Lord, I humbly admit my own insufficiency to produce the life You want me to live. Nevertheless, I confidently confess Your grace as my sufficient resource for abundant fruitfulness. Lord, I want to know You better, that humility and faith might be growing realities in my life, Amen. Also, pray this every day that you awake. "I WILL FULFILL THE CALL G-D HAS IN MY LIFE". HAVE BLESSED DAY, And may He give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him. Amen

September 21st, 2009 About ten years ago, a fighter jet shot itself down over the deserts of Nevada while testing a new cannon mounted on its wing. The plane was flying at supersonic sppeds, but ht ecannon shells were subsonic. After fireing the cannons, the fighter jet ran into the shells it had just fired. The jet was traveling too fast. Sometimes, we travle too fast for our own good. G-d speaks to to us , but we are goingto fast to hear His words. Dont be huilty of traveling too fast in you rlife taht you run past the sound of the Word of G-d. Lets be in the center of His will. Todays life styl compells us to be on the go at a fast pace. Sometimes we hav eso much to do and soem many things going on that we miss that small tender voice of G-d. Lets try to slow down a couple times a day and jsut listen to Him.

I know and I thank you. You just confirmed the word that G-d has been saying to my Spirit, We are human and G-d will not de-humanize us in any way, that is why Paul said that he cucifies the flesh "daily", because we are human and we respond in a human way sometimes. But I make a commitment to you and to G-d that the only post I will put on here are the ones that G-d has given to me (the devotions) Agian, thank you very much and I am so blessed that you are enjoying the post. You know, this may bless you. A few years ago, I was having a hard time getting my time in with Him. And every now and then during the day, He would speak to my spirit and tell me this. So I set aside just ten minutes a day to read a scripture or just talk to Him. After a few days, I noticed that I was spending 15 Minutes in the Word or in prayer, then 30 min. and on. Again, thank you so much and G-d bless you in all that you do.

God bless you buddy. You ARE a good man, no matter what people have been saying on topix. Yes, we all make mistakes and don't think before we speak, it happens. That's why we ask God to forgive us of all of our sins everyday.

A preacher and an atheist barber were once walking through the city slums. Said the atheist barber to the preacher: "This is why I cannot believe in a God of love. If God was as kind as you say, He would not permit all this poverty, disease, and squalor. He would not allow these poor bums to be addicted to dope and other character-destroying habits. No, I cannot believe in a God who permits these things." The minister was silent until they met a man who was especially unkempt and filthy. His hair was hanging down his neck and he had a half-inch of stubble on his face. Said the minister, "You cannot be a very good barber or you would not permit a man like that to continue living in this neighborhood without a haircut or a shave." Indignantly the barber answered: "Why blame me for that man's condition. I cannot help it that he is like that. He has never come in my shop; I could fix him up and make him look like a gentleman!" Giving the barber a penetrating look, the minister said: "Then do not blame God for allowing these people to continue in their evil ways, when He is constantly inviting them to come and be saved. The reason these people are slaves to sin and evil habits is that they refuse the One who died to save and deliver them."

SEPTEMBER 22, 2009 During a spelling contest in which the prize was a fine Bible, the contestants were finally reduced to two-Betty, the daughter of a poor, hard-working widow, and Susan, the daughter of a well-to-do farmer. The sympathy of the school was with the poor girl. Finally Susan misspelled a word, and Betty won the coveted prize. Going home, Susan's mother said to her daughter, "Couldn't you have spelled that word?" "Yes, Mother." "Then why didn't you do it?" "Well, you know Betty is quite poor, and she doesn't get many presents. She wanted the Bible very much, and she tried so hard for it that I thought I'd let her have it." "What made you do that, Susie?" "My Sunday school lesson, Mother, which said,'in honor preferring one another.' So I thought I'd try it, and I'm glad I did." A few days later, Susan received as a birthday present a beautiful Bible, and on the flyleaf was written the text, "In honor preferring one another" (Rom_12:10). Took the time to go see someone who lives alone? Wrote a letter to someone who crossed your mind? Read the Bible to someone too ill to read for themselves? Encouraged someone who was having a hard time being a Christian? Prayed earnestly for someone who was faltering? Tried to have a Bible study with someone you knew was lost? Told a teenager that you were proud of his efforts to live for the Lord? Spent more time on your knees praying than on the telephone talking? EVERY CHRISTIAN CAN DO SOMETHING TO ENCOURAGE SOMEONE ELSE

I was thinking...I talked to a man in town and he was going on and on about this person that he heard going off on this gentleman and cussing like a sailor. He was saying how this man is supose to be a christian and here he was talking like that...Not sure just how much cussing there was,(from hearing hte story from others he just said the h e double hockey stick word.) Well, ans this is funny, and kind of sad, but today I was in town and I heard this same man, who was being told about his drinking, tell this other man, hey" You are not suppose to judge me, the bible says we all have sinned and none of us are perfect". WHen I heard that , my spirit just jumped. ANd on the inside I was laughing. I tought, well, Lord please now, open his eyes.

Many years ago, after I had turned my life over to the Lord, my daughter would spend a few weeks with me and then a few weeks with her mom. WHen she was with me most of the time, people would comment about how much she looked like me. I would just beem, I was so proud of her. SHe would go stay with her mom,( she was only around 12 months at the time) I would pick her up and take her home and many people that we would visit would comment on how much she looked like her mom. This would run back and forth. I, being the proud dad that I was, would be sure to set them straight, that she looks just like dad, "there are many people that say she does". One day, as I was praying, the Lord brought this to my mind. I remembered it well. He said, "it is not that she changed her physical form". He said, "Jason, when she was with her mom , she would pick up her character and her facial expressions, and when she was with you, she picked up your character and your facial expressions." I said , WOw that explains it. Now I understand. He then said in a very still and peacefull voice. "Son, when you spend time with me, you pick up my expressions and my character also". WOW...it was like some one took my hand and pluged me into a wall out- let. I was so excited . and so humbled. I told Him that I would spend more time with Him... So many people struggle to make it and to overcome...I ask them , How much time do you spend in prayer or in G-d's Word., For the most part they tell me how bussy they are and they do not have time to pray and read the word. I tell them this story and explain that , there is a flow in this world, that is constantly flowing away from God, and as christians, if we chose to relax, we too will be caught up in this flow. The palmist said, "Thy word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against thee". Meditate on His Word. Meditate means to "mutter toones self" It is really hard to make a mistake or to blow it when you are singing songs and Hymns in your heart to the Lord. Ephesians 5:19 and Colossians 3:16 God bless. And we are "children of the KING"

September 23, 2009 From His high and lofty position, the Lord observes the family of man. He is not looking for the boastful and the arrogant. He is looking for the humble and the contrite. "Though the LORD is on high, yet He regards the lowly; but the proud He knows from afar" (Psa_138:6). Although our God is the creator of all the universe, He is looking for the spiritually bankrupt and those whose hearts are crushed. " 'For all those things My hand has made, and all those things exist,' says the LORD.'But on this one will I look: on him who is poor and of a contrite spirit, and who trembles at My word' " (Isa_66:2). This last phrase gives a key characteristic of those who are truly humble and contrite. They respond with reverence when hearing God's word. What does the Lord desire to do for the humble and contrite? He wants to bring spiritual restoration: "Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me" (Psa_138:7). Our great God is a God of compassion. He wants to restore the crushed heart. "The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, And saves such as have a contrite spirit ... He heals the broken-hearted and binds up their wounds" (Psa_34:18 and Psa_147:3). Our mighty, compassionate Lord "raises the poor out of the dust, and lifts the needy out of the ash heap." Creator of heaven and earth, I am amazed that You are interested in me. I want to be numbered among the humble and contrite. I have nothing by which to commend myself to You. I only bring a heart that is broken by a multitude of agonies and impossibilities. Please revive me by Your grace, through Jesus Christ, my Lord, Amen.

September 24, 2009 Psalms 31:4 "Pull me out of the net that they have laid privily for me: For thou art my strength." Our Spiritual foes are of the devils brood. They are not flesh and blood. They seek to trap us by subtlety. This poray from the psalmist shows us the possibility of the beleiver being caught like a bird.( this lets us that we are the enemies prey) THe enemy is so apt at doing his work taht young and simple ones are soon surrounded by the net. There are many petitions in this prayer, the one that we will look at now is that evenout of all satans nets, the captive one may still be delivered. They may need a sharp pull or even push to save the soul from the net of temptations, hard mouthed words will not do it, Telling our neighbors will not do it. 1 Peter 4:8 reads, " And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins. My God is the one that is equal to this emergency, and the most skilfully placed nets of the devil shall never be able to hold His chosen ones. Woe unto those who are so cleaver at net laying; they who tempt others shall be destroyed themselves. “For thou art my strength.” What an inexpressible sweetness is to be found in these few words! How joyfully may we encounter toils, and how cheerfully may we endure sufferings, when we can lay hold upon celestial strength. Divine power will rend asunder all the toils of our enemies, confound their politics, and frustrate their knavish tricks; he is a happy man who has such matchless might engaged upon his side. Our own strength would be of little service when embarrassed in the nets of base cunning, but the Lord’s strength is ever available; we have but to invoke it, and we shall find it near at hand. If by faith we are depending alone upon the strength of the mighty God of Israel, we may use our holy reliance as a plea in supplication. “Lord, evermore thy face we seek: Tempted we are, and poor, and weak; Keep us with lowly hearts, and meek. Let us not fall. Let us not fall.”
