Was he driving to the local Wal-Mart and got lost - just happened to show up at the house of the "girl" he contacted? This proves that defense lawyers are the scum of the earth. How can anyone defend what he did?? SS did not mean that the way you took it. Anyone who has been posting here for any length of time knows what he meant. Here's the court martial sentence re Sgt. Yancy Wallace per info provided by the Marine Corps' Sierra Judicial District at Camp Pendleton: --Dishonorable discharge and forfeiture of all pay; --55 months in prison (he faced up to 86 years); --Reduction in rank to E1 btw, no problem getting this info as it is public.

LOL The decoy probably found Wolin through Wolin's alt.com profile, as you sleuths said he had, and then told Wolin to open a chat on his home computer when he got home. Poof! The decoy's hard drive crashes and there is no evidence of the alt.com communications on Wolin's home computer. By the way, I looked into the Perverted Justice wikipedia page and Psycho appears to be referencing the libel/defamation in the Sadler case. That you all would ignore that is how the aptly named Perverted Justice rolls. That Von Erck did not save a kidnapped, raped and tortured child is understandably something Perverted Justice would rather not acknowledge even if it means maintaining false accusations. I think he should sue but he may not know about it.

I think he should sue but he may not know about it. Let's assume for a moment that you're exactly right and PJ found Wolin using the alt.com profile. So what? It doesn't eliminate the illegal chat nor does it nullify the 45 minute trip to Petaluma which constitutes the attempt. It doesn't even advance the case for entrapment. I agree that law enforcement should have been running the sting and as such been custodians of all evidence-including the hard drives. So the prosecution should be sanctioned for not keeping the hard drive for defense forensic analysis. The sanction: Staebel will have to proceed using transcripts of chats minus emoticons. There, does that work for you?

Actually when you look at the sentences most of the people received from the Petaluma sting (3 months in jail), Yancy was hammered pretty hard. 5 and a half years is commesurate with the sentences handed out in Ohio. The dishonorable discharge is a sentence in itself, as it will follow him for life.

Such a thing would have given much more strength to the claims of entrapment.

Yes, Wallace really took a hit. Has anyone one heard what happened to Joseph Roisman? He was the tough macho guy who Likes lemonade also. The one who took off his shirt to get ready for the hot tub.

You can view a photocopy of Maurice Wolin's medical suspension order at this website: Medical Board of California Public Document Search website http://publicdocs.medbd.ca.gov/pdl/mbc.aspx Enter either "63494" in the License field, or "wolin" in the Last Name field Click on the link, "11/29/2006" The document opens as a PDF, and it even has Mo's signature on it. I'll bet Wolin still has the original. If he can drum up enough publicity during the actual trial, I'll bet he could get a couple hundred bucks for it on eBay.

Yes, I agree. The point is Von Erck can't be trusted. It doesn't take much digging to learn he was personally involved in the Perverted Justice wikipedia page until he was banned and Perverted Justice still edits it in its favor when necessary. What is alarming is the false accusations against Sadler and the claim Von Erck is "credited" with saving a kidnapped, raped and tortured child. Sadler was found not guilty of all but 8 of the 32 counts, including kidnap and child rape, and the appeals court reversed the last 8. Perverted Justice does not attempt to correct the wikipedia article. I think evidence like this is the reason his hard drive "crashed." Perverted Justice's willingness to maintain false claims goes to the heart of its credibility.
