How did she get there? Was she homeless? Why doesn't the paper give more details?

Be thankful you got this much information! They had an article yesterday that pretty much said someone was found dead in Phillipsburg. Nothing else, jut that someone was found dead somewhere.

They found her Saturday, but she may have been dead longer. If she was not dressed properly and/or was ill/frail, she could still die of hypothermia even if the temparature is not below freezing.

Very sad story. It sounds as if she was homeless (since they say "last known address).

So true and I don't care what led to this either.

The fact that no one should have to suffer and die that way is the point.

thats b/c i heard that they found a shattered arm in the middle of the road on center street. and the woman found on the rr tracks did not die of hypothermia, but that she was found with her head bashed in and her belongings scattered all over the place. why was she all the way out here. was she murdered there or elsewhere and dumped there? the authorities are keeping this from the town, and we all have the right to know if there is some serial killer on the loose!!!!!

She froze to death. She comes from a well to do Morris Co. family supposedly. She shacked up with some guy at Farris' and was later thrown out by the management there. She was wondering the town and fell asleep. No evidence of a crime. That's what I heard from a friend close to it, and why the papers aren't saying much. A horrible tragedy by a woman who died too young.

I personally find it quite problematic when people sit behind their computers safely at home and point fingers on such a tragic situation. This whole "thread" is sad. Have you people lost any sense of humanity? Who are you to say anything of her family? From what I read of the story it lends no information to lead anyone to arrive at these conclusions. Things are not always as they appear. The morality or lack thereof brought on by the internet is baffling; a person is able to say whatever they want behind the screen, it completely dehumanizing the event. I would find it safe to say that you would be unable to look into the tearful eyes of her grieving family members and utter the same words. Susan suffered a heart breaking fate. The past cannot be changed only the future. I am not saying this is the case but statistically speaking it is possible. Over 66% of today’s homeless have co-occurring mental illness or substance use disorders, a tragic statistic, but one that has the potential to change. Maybe if the government actually followed up on their promise to provide mental health care to those in need, rather than sending them into the streets or behind bars, this story would be different. Pray for her, her family, as well as other people in her situation. Transformation is possible. Be the change you wish to see in the world. It is within all our control.
