Dear God! How big is S.L.H.N. going to become?

It seems the bigger the hospital, the quality of care is less.

I will go to Sacred Heart anytime. Inner City Hospital or not. I have been there twice in the past 3 years. Not only are the staff MUCH more attentive. When you ask for a Doctor you actually get a REAL Doctor. Not a Fill in tech or a trainee/messenger. I thought by now some one would argue the "Monopoly" card!

No thanks to our wonderful politicians, this will help bring down costs and offer better services. I don't think you would hear anyone crying if LVHC merged with Warren. It's a win win situation. St. Luke's has turned around Miner's, Allentown, Quakertown and I am sure they will do the same with Warren. Ten years from now lets see who is all standing. It may not be the "Mecca" like other facilities like to taunt themselves but look at their record and what they can offer. The patients win!

Like I said, no one would be complaining if they merged with LVHC. It's a persona the media created. No doctor's - fill in's ... please, they have some of the best MD's in the tri-state area let alone one of the best up and coming medical programs.

A doctor a LVH who will remain nameless insisted I was type2 diabetic. He placed me on a diabetic medication. 3 months and 40% kidney loss later I went to Sacred Heart out of desperation. I was taken off the medication and underwent extensive evaluation. Today I am diabetes free and have regained some of the lost kidney function. No I am not suing anyone. Not going there.

The place isn't all the press makes it out to be. Just my 2 cents as I am in the health field myself and know numerous people who work at both facilities.

I never once pointed strictly to diabetes. Not once. I have had experiences at both Hospitals and Sacred Heart came out on top big time. you were a person, not a room with a body in it. Doctors would stop in and just talk about whats on TV for a minute or two just because they could. It didnt take 30 min to an hour to see a "Doctor". Did I receive all the "posh" ammenities of a "Mega" hospital like LVH? NO. No flat screen TV,No veal Parm for supper,no valet service for visitors. Oh well, the point is I was respected and taken care of FAR better then LVH ever did.
