We bought a generator and keep gas, we always kept enough food for a few weeks

Generators and gas are so expensive compared to building your own solar grid, or harnessing wind power, or fixing your gutters to capture water run off! Some people take electricity for granted, while others treat it as something that possibly won't last forever!
